Ryan Gosling has found his next project.

Gosling recently starred as Dr. Ryland Grace in the recent sci-fi movie Project Hail Mary, which is now playing in United States theaters. He’s set to lead Shawn Levy’s new Star Wars movie, Star Wars: Starfighter, which is scheduled to arrive in 2027. Additionally, he’s producing a romance film called Love of Your Life that does not yet have a release date.

What do we know about the new Ryan Gosling movie?

Per Deadline, Gosling has now been cast in the next movie from Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, also known as Daniels. This will be their first movie since the Oscar-winning Everything Everywhere All at Once, which was released in 2022.

Plot and character details remain under wraps at this time. Production is expected to begin in Los Angeles this summer.

Kwan, Scheinert, and Jonathan Wang are producing the movie, which is being released through Universal Pictures, for Playgrounds. Sara Scott and Jacqueline Garell are overseeing the project.

Deadline’s article states, “It’s been four years since Daniels swept the 2022 Oscars with their A24 pic Everything Everywhere All At Once, with a lot of time spent developing this secret project that was set up at Universal in 2024. After recently dating the film for Nov. 19, 2027, word began to spread around town that while a lot of the ensemble would be younger talent that would audition, the studio and Daniels were aiming high when it came to the first actor to receive an offer, and boy did they deliver.”

Prior to Everything Everywhere All at Once, Daniels made Swiss Army Man in 2016, which stars Daniel Radcliffe, Paul Dano, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Additionally, Scheinert directed 2019’s The Death of Dick Long — an A24 movie that he also starred in alongside Michael Abbott Jr., Virginia Newcomb, and Andre Hyland — by himself.
