The ‘00s piercings renaissance is in full swing, and Angelina Jolie’s daughter, Shiloh Jolie, is the latest big name to get on board with a niche pick.

Belly button piercings have been on the up for the last few years as all things Y2K take off, with anyone from Suri Cruise to Sasha Obama and Addison Rae hopping on the popstar-approved jewelry placement. However, there were many other piercings in the ‘00s that didn’t get as much love as the navel rings, like Monroe piercings, eyebrow piercings, and Shiloh’s choice: the labret piercing.

While vertical labret and medusa piercings have become staples for Gen Z, we rarely get to see people rocking a classic, centered labret these days — and Shiloh’s here to change that. Over the weekend, the 19-year-old was spotted shopping around the San Gennaro Festival in Manhattan’s Little Italy alongside fellow dancer and friend Keoni Rose, and all eyes were on her new piece of jewelry. While Shiloh tends to gravitate towards more understated styles, she made a splash with her NYC sighting thanks to her brand-new piercing, which was the only piece of jewelry she wore. She also wore her even more platinum blonde hair slicked in a ‘do with a side parting, and an intense dark smoky eye as a glam. To balance out the makeup, Shiloh wore an oversized Scarface hoodie, navy jeans, a tee, and sneakers.

Although they were more popular in the 2000s than they are now, centered labret piercings have always been a love-it-or-hate-it body modification, especially when worn as a stud rather than a ring like Shiloh’s. While stars like Christina Aguilera and Travis Barker made it their signature at the time, other styles like the side labret or even snake bites piercings were definitely more mainstream. Could Shiloh be starting a new trend? Only time will tell!
