Sniper: No Nation trailer reminds us there are somehow 12 films in this franchise

Every once in a while, I stumble across a franchise that has somehow spawned a completely absurd number of sequels. I’m talking about the kind of series where you vaguely remember the original, maybe the second one, and then suddenly you discover it’s been quietly multiplying for the last thirty years.

Case in point: in 1993, Tom Berenger starred in Sniper, a solid action flick about an elite marksman sent on a dangerous assassination mission. Pretty straightforward stuff. Fast-forward to 2026, and Berenger is back in Sniper: No Nation, which, and I’m not making this up, is the twelfth film in the franchise.

Twelve. As in a dozen. Somewhere along the line, this thing turned into the Fast & Furious of direct-to-video military thrillers, and I didn’t even notice it happening. Anyway, you can check out the trailer for Sniper: No Nation above.

Sniper: No Nation

A covert operation in Costa Verde explodes into an international scandal, and the U.S. government responds by disavowing the Global Response & Intelligence Team (G.R.I.T.), branding its operatives as terrorists,” reads the official synopsis. “Hunted by the very country he served, Ace sniper Brandon Beckett goes AWOL only to learn that the Phoenix Rebellion, his last remaining allies, has been decimated by the Iron Legion, a mercenary force working for Costa Verde’s ruthless Prime Minister. With fellow soldiers imprisoned and scheduled for public execution, Brandon reunites with his father, legendary sniper Thomas Beckett, brother-in-arms Agent Zero, and a handful of rebels for an off-the-books rescue mission against impossible odds. As time runs out for his friends and global tensions rise, Brandon faces his most dangerous fight yet — without a flag, without backup, and without mercy.

The film stars Chad Michael Collins, who has led the series for more than a decade, alongside Ryan Robbins, Manuel Rodriguez-Saenz, and Josh Brener. Tom Berenger is also featured as Thomas Beckett, the sniper who started it all.

Sniper: No Nation will be released on Digital and DVD on April 7.

The Sniper Franchise

Alright, so after the release of the original film in 1993, the Sniper franchise lay dormant for almost 10 years until Sniper 2 launched in 2002. Sniper 3 followed in 2004, and it was off to the races. Sniper: Reloaded in 2011, Sniper: Legacy in 2014, Sniper: Ghost Shooter in 2016, Sniper: Ultimate Kill in 2017, Sniper: Assassin’s End in 2020, Sniper: Rogue Mission in 2022, Sniper: G.R.I.T. – Global Response & Intelligence Team in 2023, Sniper: The Last Stand in 2025, and now Sniper: No Nation. I’ve typed Sniper so many times it doesn’t look like a real word anymore. Sniper. Sneeper. Snepare. Hodor.

Have any of you actually watched all of the Sniper movies?
