Sporcle Eliminator Makes Its European Debut at NS Open 2026

Sporcle Eliminator Goes International at NS Open 2026

Sporcle Eliminator just made its European debut.

At NS Open 2026 in Novi Sad, Serbia, 74 players from Serbia, Croatia, Hungary, and Bosnia and Herzegovina took on our classic Eliminator format, bringing one of our most exciting formats to a new audience.

What started as a qualifying round quickly built into one of the most talked-about moments of the weekend.

A Strong Start with 74 Players

The day began with a 30-question qualifying round, played pen-and-paper style, a common format at events like NS Open. A total of 74 players competed, with the top 10 advancing to the Finals.

While the format started simply, the structure and stakes of Eliminator quickly set it apart.

The Finals Took Over the Room

By the time the Finals rolled around on Saturday evening, the energy had shifted.

Following a record-setting team quiz with 37 teams, players and spectators stuck around, filling the room and turning the Eliminator Finals into one of the marquee moments of the weekend. Even those who didn’t qualify stayed to watch, ask questions, and talk through the format.

The Finals used 59 of 90 prepared questions, carefully selected from past Eliminator events, and delivered the kind of tension and excitement the format is known for.

A Familiar Name Takes the Win

When it was all said and done, Žarko Stevanović came out on top.

Žarko is not only a chaser on The Chase, but also a longtime Sporcle player and Orange subscriber, making the win an especially meaningful one for the community.

The top three finishers were Žarko Stevanović (Serbia), Tomislav Bartolović (Croatia), and Srećko Veselinović (Serbia), each receiving Sporcle-branded prizes.

Building Something Bigger

For many attendees, this was their first time experiencing a Sporcle-run format in person. While trivia fans in the region were already familiar with Sporcle, seeing the format brought to life in person helped showcase what makes our events special.

More importantly, it sparked conversations. Players talked about the format throughout the day, asked questions, and showed real interest in how Eliminator works and where it could go from here.

A Huge Thanks

A special thank you to Milan for bringing this event to life and representing Sporcle and SporcleCon with so much care and attention to detail. From the gameplay to the presentation, it’s clear how much effort went into making this a success.

Moments like this show just how strong and connected the trivia community is, no matter where you are. And it’s only the beginning.
