Mumbai Indians players will wear black armbands in its IPL 2026 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday.

The team will do so as a mark of respect to a support staff member’s daughter who has passed away. The franchise said that it would wear the armbands “in remembrance and solidarity with the family” ahead of the match.

MI is currently ninth in the IPL table, having won two of its first eight matches.
