The Chainsmokers served as entertainment for the crowd at the Final Four games of the 2026 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament… but their performance was met with mixed reactions.
Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart performed a set on Saturday night (April 4) at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The guys did their set in between the Illinois vs UConn and Michigan vs Arizona games. The first game was scheduled to begin at approximately 6:09pm ET and the second game was scheduled to begin at approximately 8:49pm ET.
A lot of fans noted that they wished the second game started earlier, instead of having entertainment. Some loved it though!
Can we start the game please, I’m all for free entertainment, but this #Chainsmokers concert is atrocious. 1000% killed the vibe. #GoBlue

Media members noted on social media that they had to vacate their seats during the performance. A note read, “At the conclusion of Game 1, there will be a special performance by The Chainsmokers featuring special effects in your immediate area, including but not limited to strobe lighting, loud audio, and pyrotechnics. These may include bright flashes, sudden noises, and heat elements that may not be suitable for all guests. Members of the media seated in the end zone must clear the area within five minutes of the game concluding. You are strongly advised to pack your belongings, particularly your electronics. After the performance, security personnel will give the all-clear, indicating that you may return to your seat.”
