The Mummy Trailer Sees the Bride of the Dead Rise in Asylum’s Horror Movie

The Asylum has shared the official trailer for The Mummy, its newest supernatural horror film. The latest mockbuster film is now available to rent or own on digital platforms.

“An Egyptologist in possession of a haunted Bride of the Dead amulet is the target of a tech billionaire who believes the ancient Egyptian mummy artifact holds forbidden magic that could awaken a deadly mummy curse and unlock eternal life,” reads the movie’s official synopsis.

What happens in The Asylum’s The Mummy trailer?

The video features a billionaire’s quest for immortality, which leads him to pursue a haunted Egyptian artifact. The trailer offers a glimpse at some of the film’s suspense-filled sequences as the artifact unleashes an ancient curse. The cast includes Jon Jacobs as Robert, Lisa Zane as Charlotte Grove, Apoorva Mittra as Ara, Siena Goines as Elizabeth, and Sheba Jade as Isabel.

The Mummy was written and directed by Maurice Chauvet in his feature directorial debut. It is produced by Michael Kastenbaum, Laura Maccabee, and Andrea Mia, with Gareth Llewelyn serving as an executive producer. The creative team consisted of cinematographer Andrew Parke, production designer Alyssa Katz, and art director Cheri Moo, along with composer and editor Sean Musaeus. Katz is also serving as a costume designer.

The movie hails from The Asylum, the production company best known for hit mockbusters like the Sharknado movies, Z Nation, Ape vs. Monster, Morgan: Killer Doll, Evil Nun, and more. It was also the studio behind Netflix’s hit apocalyptic thriller series, Black Summer, which lasted for two seasons from 2019 to 2021. It was led by Jaime King and Justin Chu Cary.
