When thinking of a winter hair trend, baby pink doesn’t typically come to mind. But with stars like Knox Jolie-Pitt, Adéla, and KATSEYE’s Megan all wearing the bubblegum color as of late, it might just be one to consider.

Pink hair has been a go-to for the buzziest pop stars for quite some time now. Adéla’s long and tousled pink hair has become a signature. Megan entered her “Gnarly” era with face-framing pink highlights and has now transitioned them into peekaboo highlights. Stray Kids’ Felix even swapped his icy blonde hair for a pink tint. Ice Spice also switched from her go-to orange shade to pink. Throughout the promotions for their most recent comeback, “Back to Life,” &TEAM’s Nicholas and Maki have both had light pink hair. Thai singer Nene has also been sporting a soft pink hue, slowly darkening it to a purple tinge over time, similar to soccer player Trinity Rodman’s who previously had pink hair and just recently went for lilac.

It was also a part of Evan Mock’s signature skater style for quite some time. While he had a buzz cut, Jolie-Pitt opted for a spikey hairstyle, both proving that pink can be punk. Paige Bueckers microdosed the trend by opting to dye just the ends of her blonde hair pink with Madison Reed’s ColorWonder in Pink Orchid.

Light pink makes for a popular choice among fashion colors thanks to its versatility and ability to pass as a more natural rose gold or strawberry blonde. Celebrities often make it their first foray into bold hues. Hailey Bieber even wore the hair color on the Met Gala red carpet.

When DIY jobs kept people entertained during COVID-19 lockdowns, light pink hair also had a moment, with stars like Kaia Gerber joining in on the trend. It’s also easier to maintain at home than traditional blonde — a semi-permanent dye can do wonders — requiring fewer visits to the salon, all the more reason for its growing virality.

While warm-toned, saturated pinks are often associated with spring or summer, the recent cool-toned takes are shaping up to be a major winter hair trend. So if you’re bored over the Thanksgiving break, perhaps it’s time for a makeover.
