But front and center, as always, are the sneakers. Much of Chavarria’s Adidas work has centered on the Jabbar Low, the ’70s-era signature sneaker of Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The new collection reaches deeper into the Adidas canon, including a blacked-out rendition of the Forum Low ($250) with a wavy new sole and a luxe leather upper, looking way more runway-ready than ever before. For those married to the original silhouette, there’s also a classic Forum High ($170), strap and all, decked out in Chavarria’s signature black and red.
The masterpiece, though, is the Forum Boot ($300), an eleventh-hour contender for sneaker of the year—if you can even call it a sneaker. Working from the base of the Forum Low with its thick, teched-out sole and heelcaps, it lengthens the upper into an above-ankle boot with a narrow cuff and wide foot. The colorway is black-on-black and more closely resembles an archival Prada Vibram-sole boot than anything you’ve seen on a Foot Locker shelf this year. The exaggerated proportions and action-hero aura are pure Chavarria.
Based on what we saw in his show in Paris over the summer, Chavarria and Adidas are just getting started—but this closing 2025 release provides an excellent end to a truly memorable beginning. The entire collection is available today, December 12, via Adidas and the CONFIRMED app.
