Welcome to Week 5 of the fantasy football season. Week 4 gave us some veterans back at the top of fantasy QB scoring. Dak Prescott, Matthew Stafford and Patrick Mahomes made up the Top 3. As a group, they threw for 10 touchdowns and rushed for another while throwing no interceptions. Old school pocket passing won out in Week 4.
Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers
Caleb Williams, Michael Penix Jr., Jordan Love, Aaron Rodgers
Jackson was forced from Sunday’s game against the Chiefs with a hamstring injury and did not return. His status for Week 5 against the Texans is very much in doubt. Expect Cooper Rush to start this week against a good Texans defense.
McCarthy has now been out two games with his ankle injury. The team appears set on giving him ample time to heal, so Week 7 looks like a possible return date. Carson Wentz will remain the starter for now.
Purdy’s toe injury flared up during their Week 4 loss to the Jaguars. He was then listed as DNP on their Monday walk through. With a game on Thursday against the Rams, there looks like there is a possibility Purdy will need to rest his toe again. Mac Jones would get the start.
Jayden Daniels, Commanders
Daniels was able to get in limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday before not practicing on Friday last week. It doesn’t appear he had a setback, just that when the doctors didn’t give him the green light, they rested him after his two practice days. It seems that he has a chance to play this week, as he says he’s feeling good, but still needs the doctor’s okay.

Justin Fields, Jets vs. Cowboys
At this point you start any quarterback against the Cowboys and we just saw Fields put together another astrong fantasy day against the Dolphins this time around. His rushing ability continues to propel him into the Top 5, especially when he’s playing a poor defense.
Jaxon Dart, Giants vs. Saints
Dart’s fantasy prospects took a hit when Malik Nabers suffered an ACl injury in Week 4. Without Nabers I don’t like him as a Top 12 fantasy quarterback, but his rushing ability does make him streamable in good matchups like this one against the Saints. New Orleans hasn’t been able to stop any quarterback this season, allowing nine touchdowns to one interception along with a rushing touchdown. On the season they’ve allowed the third-most EPA per dropback to opposing signal callers.
