Viral Rachel Zegler Videos Launch Multiple Theories About 'Evita' Production in London

Rachel Zegler is days away from making her West End debut in the London revival of the classic musical Evita. New viral videos have launched some theories about the upcoming production!

The 24-year-old actress is being directed by Jamie Lloyd, who is currently nominated for a Tony Award for directing the latest revival of Sunset Blvd.

The current production of Sunset Blvd incorporates live video elements that are projected onto a giant screen on stage, including one scene where lead actor Tom Francis exits the theater and performs an entire song on the New York City streets while the audience watches on the giant TV screen.

Rachel‘s limited run in Evita will begin on June 14 and end on September 6.

So, what’s going on with the Evita production?

Rachel was spotted in full costume and makeup and performed the classic song “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” while standing on the balcony of the London Palladium theater, where the show will be staged.

There are several theories being thrown around by fans.

1. Rachel is just filming a promo video.
The most likely theory is that Rachel is filming a promo video that will be released to get fans excited about the show. “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” is the most famous song in the musical, so it makes sense that she would perform it for promotional purposes.

2. Rachel will perform the song on the balcony during every performance
Some fans think that Jamie Lloyd will be sending his actors outside the theater again and will have audiences watch the scene from screens placed on stage. With performances beginning next weekend, it makes sense that they’re doing rehearsals right now. But many fans have expressed they’ll be disappointed if the biggest song in the show is not actually performed on the stage.

3. Pre-recorded video elements will be shown on stage while Rachel performs
There’s also the possibility that pre-recorded video elements will be used in the show and onlookers may have just captured the moment when Rachel was filming them. If this is true, Rachel will still be performing “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” on stage and we’ll just get additional footage shown behind her.
