New details are being revealed regarding Home Improvement star Zachery Ty Bryan’s latest arrest.

According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, the actor and his fiancée, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, were both arrested on Saturday, November 29, after an incident in the Fall Creek area of Oregon.

“On November 29th at about 12:30 p.m., Lane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of reckless endangering in the area of Big Fall Creek Road milepost 5, a popular camping area northeast of Lowell,” police said in a statement via Facebook. “Deputies learned Zachery Ty Bryan, 44, of Eugene, was in a pickup truck with Johnnie Faye Cartwright, 32, of Eugene, and their three small children. They were driving together in the area.”

According to police, Bryan got out of the pickup truck and began walking down a road.

“Cartwright then attempted to run over Bryan, crashing the truck with the children inside into the ditch,” police claimed in the statement.  “Bryan was able to move out of the way and avoid injury. No one inside the pickup was injured.”

Deputies interviewed both Bryan and his fiancée and allegedly observed signs that “both were impaired.”

Officials also interviewed witnesses contacted on the scene. Per a court order from a prior case, police said Bryan was not supposed to be in contact with Cartwright.

“After additional investigation, Cartwright was arrested for Attempted Assault in the 1st Degree, three counts of Recklessly Endangering and DUII,” police concluded in a statement. “Bryan was arrested for a probation violation on an original charge of Assault in the 4th Degree. The involved children were placed with a family member.”

According to online court records viewed by Us Weekly, both parties remained in custody as of Monday, December 1. It is unclear if Bryan or Cartwright have obtained legal representation to comment on their behalf.

Bryan starred alongside Tim Allen in the ABC sitcom Home Improvement from 1991 to 1999.

When asked about Bryan in 2022, Allen, 72, told The Hollywood Reporter, “I don’t know what’s going on with him. Zach is a great kid who has grown into a complex man. All you can do is step aside and let somebody go through their process. At a certain point, he deviated from the guy I know to somebody who is reacting to situations that I had nothing to do with and can’t control.”

This isn’t the first time Bryan has found himself in various legal matters.

In October 2023, Bryan pleaded guilty to felony assault in the fourth degree constituting domestic violence. As a result of his plea, the actor was expected to receive a “downward dispositional departure” to 36 months of supervised probation, seven days in jail and to abide by a set of conditions typical of domestic violence cases.

“I’ll always want what’s best for the father of my children,” Cartwright said in a statement to Us in August 2023. “I ask everyone to please be respectful of our privacy for the sake of the children and our families so the healing process can begin.”

Bryan and Cartwright announced their engagement in November 2021. The pair share three children, including a daughter born in April 2022 and twins who arrived in May 2023.
