यूरोपीय टी20 प्रीमियर लीग (ETPL) के पहले सीजन का शेड्यूल जारी कर दिया गया है। यह टूर्नामेंट 26 अगस्त से 20 सितंबर तक नीदरलैंड और आयरलैंड के विभिन्न मैदानों पर खेला जाएगा। इस लीग में कुल छह टीमें हिस्सा ले रही हैं, जिनमें दुनिया भर के दिग्गज खिलाड़ी और यूरोप के बेहतरीन घरेलू खिलाड़ी शामिल होंगे। 26 अगस्त को पहला मुकाबला टूर्नामेंट का पहला मैच 26 अगस्त को द हेग के वूरबर्ग क्रिकेट क्लब में खेला जाएगा। इसमें जोंटी रोड्स की टीम रॉटरडैम डॉकर्स का मुकाबला स्टीव वॉ की एम्स्टर्डम फ्लेम्स से होगा। इसके बाद 27 अगस्त को दूसरा मैच राहुल द्रविड़ समर्थित और रविचंद्रन अश्विन की कप्तानी वाली डबलिन गार्डियंस और ग्लेन मैक्सवेल की बेलफास्ट वॉल्व्स के बीच खेला जाएगा। लीग का फॉर्मेट और वेन्यू टूर्नामेंट की शुरुआत वूरबर्ग से होगी, जिसके बाद बाकी के लीग मैच डबलिन के मालाहाइड क्रिकेट क्लब में खेले जाएंगे। मालाहाइड में ही क्वालीफायर और फाइनल मुकाबला भी आयोजित होगा। लीग में हर टीम दूसरी टीम के खिलाफ दो बार राउंड-रॉबिन फॉर्मेट में खेलेगी। अंक तालिका में शीर्ष पर रहने वाली टीम सीधे फाइनल में पहुंचेगी, जबकि दूसरे और तीसरे स्थान पर रहने वाली टीमें फाइनल में जगह बनाने के लिए क्वालीफायर खेलेंगी। दिग्गज खिलाड़ी और आयोजक इस लीग में टिम डेविड, स्टीव स्मिथ, फाफ डु प्लेसिस, हेनरिक क्लासेन, मिचेल मार्श, लुंगी एनगिडी और ट्रेंट बोल्ट जैसे वैश्विक सितारे खेलते नजर आएंगे। इनके साथ पॉल स्टर्लिंग, स्कॉट एडवर्ड्स, जोश लिटिल, जय मूंदड़ा, जॉर्ज डॉकरेल, आर्यन दत्त, मैक्स ओ डाउड, रिची बेरिंगटन और मैथ्यू क्रॉस जैसे प्रमुख यूरोपीय खिलाड़ी भी शामिल होंगे। डबलिन गार्डियंस के सह-मालिक राहुल द्रविड़ ने कहा कि यूरोप की इस नई टी20 लीग में डबलिन का प्रतिनिधित्व करना रोमांचक है। वे एक ऐसे सीजन की उम्मीद कर रहे हैं जिस पर शहर और प्रशंसक गर्व कर सकें। ETPL की सह-स्थापना अभिषेक बच्चन, सौरव बनर्जी, प्रियंका कौल और धीरज मल्होत्रा ने की है। इस लीग को क्रिकेट आयरलैंड, क्रिकेट स्कॉटलैंड और रॉयल डच क्रिकेट एसोसिएशन (KNCB) की साझेदारी में विकसित किया गया है।
