We’ve got quite a wait ahead of us before the next James Bond movie, but in the meantime, the upcoming James Bond video game will hopefully scratch that itch. The official title sequence for 007 First Light has been revealed, featuring the original song “First Light,” written and composed by Lana Del Rey & David Arnold. You can check that out below.

About the Game

007 First Light is an action-stealth video game developed and published by IO Interactive, the folks behind Hitman. It’s actually a prequel that features a younger James Bond. “This is Bond as you’ve never seen him before — the youngest Bond fans have ever met,” reads the description. “In 007 First Light, at only 26 years old, he isn’t the fully fledged 007 you know from the tux-and-martini days but a man with sharp instincts, sometimes reckless, who is still learning when to fight, when to bluff, and when to disappear into the shadows.“

The game will be released for PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X/S on May 27.

What About the Movie?

Denis Villeneuve is set to direct the next James Bond movie, which will be the first released by Amazon MGM Studios. Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) is writing the script. We still don’t know who will be playing the secret agent, but Amazon’s head of film, Courtenay Valenti, gave an update at CinemaCon this week.

“Now, I know you’re all wondering when we’re going to announce who’s playing James Bond,” she said. “Please know that we’re taking the time to do this with care and deep respect. It is the dream of a lifetime for all of us to bring audiences this next chapter, and it’s a responsibility we don’t take lightly.“

She continued, “What I can tell you is this: When you pair one of the most beloved franchises in history with a world-class filmmaking team, including the brilliant director Denis Villeneuve, extraordinary producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman, executive producer Tanya Lapointe, and screenwriter Steven Knight, you’re setting the stage for something that’s truly worthy of the Bond legacy. That film is coming, and when the time is right, we’ll have much more to share.“
