1 Much Needed Change Promised for Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 – Comic Book Movies and Superhero Movie News – SuperHeroHype

Daredevil: Born Again is finally making a huge change for Season 3. Showrunner Dario Scardapane has confirmed that the upcoming season will introduce new villains, resulting in Wilson Fisk no longer monopolizing the villain spotlight. For a series that has relied heavily on Kingpin as its narrative anchor, this is a much-needed change in direction.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 confirmed to bring new villains

Since the Netflix era, Wilson Fisk has been the gravitational center of Daredevil’s live-action world. While the franchise has introduced other villains along the way, like Bullseye, Vanessa Fisk, Muse, Elektra, James Wesley, The Hand, and Nobu Yoshioka, the overarching fight has consistently circled back to Kingpin. Daredevil: Born Again doubled down on this formula by elevating Fisk to Mayor of New York, once again making him Matt Murdock’s primary foe.

This creative choice, while compelling, left little room for the broader rogues’ gallery that defines Daredevil’s comic book history. Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 promises to correct that imbalance. Scardapane addressed the franchise’s approach to villains moving forward. When asked about plans to introduce villains audiences have never seen before in the already-confirmed Season 3, he shared that new faces are coming.

“Yeah, I mean, the idea of heroes and villains in our story… Somebody that you may see can evolve into something unexpected… The idea of introducing characters that we know, Bullseye being one of them, and playing around with, ‘Should we be rooting for this guy? Wait a second, we can’t do that. He killed Foggy.’ So yeah, I mean, everything’s on the table,” Scardapane told The Direct. “We’ve got a few more people heading your way,” he added.

The groundwork for this change is already visible. Season 1 introduced Muse, a serial killer who treated murder as artistic expression, while Vanessa Fisk stepped into an active villain role by orchestrating Foggy Nelson’s death. Bullseye continued his violent trajectory, targeting both Fisk and Vanessa for their betrayal. Season 2 has widened the scope further, bringing in Matthew Lillard’s Mr. Charles, Anti-Vigilante Task Force, Buck Cashman, and more.
