You’re officially leaving the nest and heading off to your freshman year of college, away from your home, your bedroom, and your family. Packing for your first year of dorm life is a big deal and you need a college shopping list that’s comprehensive. You may know this already, but just in case, we’ve got a few tips for items that can be easy to miss.

Even if your college of choice is close to the family home, you probably won’t be there that often when you’re living in a dorm (or your first off-campus apartment), so you want to make your space feel as comfortable and home-like as possible.
