1. Pixie Cuts

If you’re looking to make a major transformation, then consider trading in your lengthy locks for a pixie cut. The timeless hairstyle is the epitome of effortless elegance, and you know it’s destined for a comeback when A-listers like Emma Stone are embracing a cropped cut. This time around, the pixie cut is returning with a slightly softer edge, from tousled texture to piecey layers. “What I love about the pixie is how empowering it feels,” says Jerome Lordet, a New York-based hairstylist and owner of Jerome Lordet Salon. “It reveals the face, highlights bone structure, and makes a bold yet refined statement.”
To achieve a modern pixie, Lordet recommends customizing the cut to your face shape, and adding volume at the crown or softness around the ears depending on your features. While this short ‘do is relatively easy to maintain, it does require trims every 4 to 6 weeks to keep the shape intact. But if you’re not totally ready to commit, consider something in between a bob and a pixie: a bixie.
