Daniel Farke hailed Leeds’ historic 2-1 win against Manchester United on Monday as “big step forward” in their fight for Premier League survival.
Leeds earned its first league victory at Old Trafford since 1981 thanks to Noah Okafor’s first-half double.
United had Lisandro Martinez sent off for pulling Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s hair in the second half before Casemiro’s header set up a frantic finale.
A pair of goal-line clearances in the closing moments ensured Leeds was able to hold on to celebrate its first league win over United since 2002 and its first in any competition since 2010.
It was a vital triumph for Farke’s side, lifting it six points clear of the relegation zone with six games left.
“Proud of the boys. Fantastic performance. We are in the crunch time of the season, and it’s important to keep your nerves and stick to your plan,” Farke said.
“I think the first half was fantastic, we should have been higher up than 2-0, we missed many, many chances.
“We were a bit sleepy at one set-piece. United is a side packed with top-class players, which can bring quality from the bench later in the game.
“It’s difficult to bring it over the line as a newly-promoted side. Big compliment to the whole group.”
Farke claimed Leeds’ impressive performance in its first league win in seven games underlined why it should be higher in the table.
“It’s a sign of why we should be in a much better position performance-wise,” he said.
“This team has performed over the whole season with unbelievable consistency. A win is always good for the mood, for confidence. Also for the table.
“I think it’s the first win here for over forty years. It’s amazing, and of course a big step forward.”
In its first season back in the Premier League after promotion from the Championship, Leeds is on course to preserve its top-flight status.
It also has its first FA Cup semifinal appearance since 1987 to look forward to against Chelsea at Wembley on April 26.
“We have to stay humble. We are not perfect. We are not the finished, end product,” Farke said. “We are on a good path, on the way to achieving something really positive this season.”

Mandatory Credit: Alan Poizner-Imagn Images Macklin Celebrini scored two goals and the visiting San Jose Sharks held on for a 3-2 win against the Nashville Predators on Monday night.
Igor Chernyshov had a goal and an assist for the Sharks (38-34-8, 84), who have two games remaining and kept their slim Stanley Cup playoff hopes alive. Alex Nedeljkovic made 25 saves.
Luke Evangelista scored two goals for the Predators (38-33-10, 86 points), who have one game remaining, against Anaheim on Thursday. Ryan Ufko had two assists, and Justus Annunen made 20 saves.
Both teams will be eliminated from playoff contention if the Los Angeles Kings win Monday night.
Evangelista pulled the Predators within 2-1 at 15:39 of the third period. A perfect pass from Nick Perbix sent Evangelista in behind the defender and he beat Nedeljkovic with a wrist shot into the short-side top corner.
The Predators pulled Annunen and the Sharks nearly bungled a 3-on-1 rush before Celebrini scored into an empty net at 18:15 to make it 3-1.
With Annunen pulled again, Ufko’s shot deflected in off Evangelista at 18:50 to cut the deficit to 3-2.
The Sharks converted their only power-play opportunity; the Predators were 0-for-1.
San Jose outshot Nashville 11-6 in a scoreless first period.
Chernyshov gave the Sharks a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal at 9:53 of the second period. William Eklund got a rebound in the slot and passed to Chernyshov for a one-timer from the left face-off dot.
Celebrini made it 2-0 at 3:04 of the third period. After a disputed icing call forced a face-off in the Nashville end, the Predators cleared the zone, but Will Smith took the puck away and passed to Cheryshov, who skated down into the left circle, pulled up to draw the defender over and passed to Celebrini, who scored on a one-timer from the slot.
Nashville’s Filip Forsberg hit the post with about 14 minutes remaining.

A Paraguayan woman accused of supplying Ronaldinho with a forged passport, over which the former Brazil star spent five months in detention, was jailed on Monday in her South American country.
Dalia Lopez, 55, was on the run for six years before being captured in the capital, Asuncion, on April 2.
She has been in police custody ever since.
On Monday, a judge declared her to be a flight risk and ordered that she be placed in pre-trial detention in a women’s prison in the town of Emboscada, around 35 kilometres (22 miles) from Asuncion.
Lopez is accused of criminal association for allegedly providing Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, or Ronaldinho, and his brother and agent Roberto de Assis Moreira with forged documents. It is not clear why they wanted them.
Lopez had arranged for Ronaldinho to visit Paraguay in March 2020 for a charity event in support of disadvantaged children.
Two days after arriving in Paraguay, the former World Cup winner and his brother were arrested for travelling on fake Paraguayan passports, with fake ID cards.
They spent nearly one month in custody and another four under house arrest in an Asuncion hotel, on bail of USD 1.6 million.
It is still unclear why they agreed to travel on fake passports, since Brazilians can enter Paraguay without a passport, using only their national ID.
So far, 18 people have been charged in the case.

As noted above, SFPD officers recovered a document from MORENO-GAMA. MORENO-GAMA appears to have sent a similar version of the document via email to individuals at his former college in Texas on April 10, 2026. The document was a three-part series that MORENO-GAMA apparently authored, which identified views opposed to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the executives of various AI companies, including Victim-1.
The first part of the document was titled “Your Last Warning” followed by “Daniel Moreno-Gama.” In this part of the document, MORENO-GAMA stated he “killed /attempted to kill” Victim-1. MORENO-GAMA also wrote, “Also if I am going to advocate for others to kill and commit crimes, then I must lead by example and show that I am fully sincere in my message.” MORENO-GAMA further listed the names and addresses of apparent board members and chief executive officers of AI companies and investors.
The second part of the document was titled “Some more words on the matter of our impending extinction.” In this part, MORENO-GAMA discussed the purported risk AI poses to humanity.
The third part of the document was a letter to Victim-1 addressed as: “To [Victim-1’s name] if you make it” in which MORENO-GAMA states “If by some miracle you live, then I would take this as a sign from the divine to redeem yourself…”
