Andy Street will take over crew chief responsibilities for the No. 8 Chevrolet for the remainder of the 2026 season, with Pohlman transitioning into a leadership role in RCR’s competition department.
“This move is about putting our people in the best position to succeed,” RCR chairman and CEO Richard Childress said. “We have strong talent across this organization, and we’re focused on having each person in the right position to help deliver the results we expect.”
Busch, 40, is coming off a 10th-place finish Sunday at Talladega. It was his first top-10 showing of the season. After winning at least one Cup Series race in a record 19 consecutive seasons from 2005-23, Busch has not visited Victory Lane since June 2023.
Busch, who won the season-long driver’s championships in 2015 and 2019, currently ranks 27th in the NASCAR Cup Series standings. His 63 wins in NASCAR’s top circuit rank ninth all-time and are two ahead of Denny Hamlin for the most among active drivers.
Street has more than 20 years of experience in multiple roles at RCR, including serving as the company’s performance director in 2026. Street worked with Busch at the end of last year after former crew chief Randall Burnett moved to Trackhouse Racing.
“We strongly believe in the people we have,” RCR president Mike Verlander said. “At the same time, we expect better results, and that requires us to continually evaluate and make adjustments. Jim has more than two decades of success in this sport and will remain an important part of our team. We believe Andy and Kyle’s previous working relationship positions us to improve the No. 8 team and compete at a higher level.”
The NASCAR Cup Series heads to Texas Motor Speedway next Sunday in Fort Worth, where Busch won four times while driving for Joe Gibbs Racing.

A “heartbroken” Xavi Simons will miss this summer’s FIFA World Cup for the Netherlands after tearing his right ACL in English Premier League action on Saturday.
The 23-year-old midfielder was carried off on a stretcher following a collision in the 58th minute of Tottenham Hotspur’s 1-0 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Simons posted on Instagram late Sunday that he will miss the last four matches of the regular season and the World Cup in North America.
“They say life can be cruel and today it feels that way,” he said. “My season has come to an abrupt end and I’m just trying to process it. Honestly, I’m heartbroken. None of it makes sense. All I’ve wanted to do is fight for my team and now the ability to do that has been snatched away from me, along with the World Cup.”
Simons has scored six goals in 34 appearances with the Netherlands’ national team. He made his debut with the squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The Netherlands, No. 7 in the FIFA world rankings, are in Group F for the World Cup with Japan, Sweden and Tunisia. The Dutch begin play on June 14 against Japan in Arlington, Texas.

Semafor reported Sunday that Canadian holding company Tiny, which owns some 60% of Letterboxd, has been courting various potential buyers, including Versant, the parent company of CNBC and MS NOW (formerly MSNBC). Another potential buyer is The Ankler, a popular Hollywood newsletter, according to Semafor. Tiny bought the platform in 2023, valuing it at over $50 million. It’s unclear whether the company has neared any sort of deal.
Representatives for Letterboxd and Tiny did not immediately provide comment when reached by TechCrunch.
Founded in 2011, Letterboxd saw a jump in users in the past few years, climbing to about 26 million users this year, up from 1.7 million in 2020, according to The New York Times. In recent years, the site has seen interest from movie studios, which see it both as a vehicle for marketing films and a source of information about moviegoer trends, as well as from the Oscars, which teamed up with the social platform in a digital content partnership several years ago.
