Los Angeles Angels vs. New York Yankees
The Yankees were an 8-2 team a week ago, but then lost five in a row and got swept on the road vs. Tampa Bay to fall to 8-7. Pitching isn’t holding them back; the starters have a 2.67 ERA to start the season. Their lineup, however, has hit .202 this season and just .172 over the last week
Angels starter Yusei Kikuchi may be just what the Yankees’ bats need. Kikuchi is 0-2 in three starts with a 6.75 ERA and 1.77 WHIP. Then again, he has not done too badly against the Yankees in the past, holding them to .222 in 99 at-bats (22 hits, four home runs).
My Pick: Yankees ML
Will Warren should do just fine for the Yankees against an Angels lineup hitting .210 this season. However, while Kikuchi is hittable, I’m not confident the Yankees’ lineup will provide enough run support for them to cover the run line.
