Stars are reacting to the news of Don Lemon‘s arrest.

If you didn’t know, the 59-year-old journalist was taken into custody following his coverage of a protest at a church in Minneapolis, Michigan. Don and his producer were reporting on a protest at St. Paul Church on January 18, where it was believed one of the pastors was an ICE official.

His attorney, Abbe Lowell, has issued a statement: “Don Lemon was taken into custody by federal agents last night in Los Angeles, where he was covering the Grammy awards. Don has been a journalist for 30 years, and his constitutionally protected work in Minneapolis was no different than what he has always done.”

Several stars and politicians are now speaking out as well.

When people are arrested for first amendment protected activity or shot execution style for exercising their second amendment rights, it’s time to STOP being a frog & start being an enraged citizen who says ‘NO. F–K THIS. I will not remain idle.’ NOW is the moment to throw the boiling water back at this administration and say, ‘no, this is a not acceptable. We are a democracy regardless of your authoritarian hard-on.’”
