The final part of a supernatural Japanese anime series is arriving on Netflix next month. Based on a manga that sold millions of copies, the show has been popular among anime enthusiasts and maintains a favorable rating on major review aggregator sites.

Beastars Season 3 Part 2 arrives on Netflix next month

Beastars Season 3 Part 2 will begin streaming on Netflix on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

Based on Paru Itagaki’s manga series of the same name, the show is set in a world of anthropomorphic animals, divided into carnivores and herbivores. It follows Legoshi, a shy grey wolf at Cherryton Academy, as he struggles to control his predatory urges amid a series of brutal murders.

Season 1 premiered on October 10, 2019, and received positive reviews from critics and audiences. It currently has an impressive 94% Tomatometer score and 87% Popcornmeter on Rotten Tomatoes. The subsequent seasons also enjoyed favorable reviews. Furthermore, the series received several nominations at various awards events, including for its animation, theme song, screenplay, and voice acting.

The first two seasons comprised 12 episodes each and aired weekly in 2019 and 2021, respectively. In early 2024, after three years, the studio announced that the final stretch of the manga would be split into two parts. As a result, Beastars Season 3 Part 1 arrived on Netflix with 12 episodes on December 5, 2024.

Currently, there is very little official information on how many episodes the final part will feature. However, based on prior releases, it is reasonable to expect 12 episodes in Part 2.

Beastars manga debuted on September 8, 2016, in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine. By the end of its run on October 8, 2020, the manga had 192 chapters across 22 tankōbon volumes. It had reportedly sold over 7.5 million copies by late 2021, according to the author’s post on X (formerly Twitter).

Following the manga’s popularity, a stage play was announced to be in development. However, it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.
