Harvey Weinstein was allegedly not a fan of the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, according to disgraced former publicist Peggy Siegal.

“He hated Jeffrey,” Siegal, 78, claimed of Weinstein, 73, in an interview with New York Magazine published on Wednesday, March 4.

Siegal, who previously worked with Weinstein, did not share why the disgraced film producer felt that way about Epstein. (Epstein died by suicide in April 2019 at age 66.)

Siegel did form a connection with Epstein and their correspondence has been documented in the Epstein files. Siegal explained to the outlet that she attempted to use her connection to the late billionaire to help Weinstein get in touch with Queen Elizabeth II about a film he was working on about her father. (Weinstein was an executive producer on 2010’s The King Speech.)

“Harvey had been trying to get a quote from the queen,” Siegel claimed, adding that Weinstein called the project “a love song to her family.”

Siegel noted it “was ridiculous” but she conducted a plan to give a DVD to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who was friends with Epstein, at a party.

“I totally jeopardized my relationship with all these important people — they did not know who he was,” Sigel said on Wednesday. “All of Jeffrey’s illegal, immoral behavior was in Palm Beach, and he went to jail in Palm Beach.”

Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 of soliciting prostitution from a minor as part of a “sweetheart” plea deal, ultimately only serving 13 months in prison. More than a decade later, Epstein was arrested on federal charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy to traffic minors in July 2019. He pleaded not guilty to the charges, but died in a New York City jail before his case could go to trial. His death was later ruled a suicide.

Since then, Epstein’s crimes have remained at the forefront of the country’s — and the world’s — consciousness. In November 2025, the Justice Department released the so-called Epstein Files as part of the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Multiple high-powered figures, including celebrities, politicians and royals, have been named in the documents, including former Prince Andrew, Bill Gates and President Donald Trump.

Weinstein was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women, sparking the 2017 Me Too movement. He has vehemently denied the accusations of nonconsensual sex and other wrongdoing.

The producer was convicted of sexual assault in New York in 2020 and Los Angeles in 2022. His conviction in New York was overturned on appeal in 2024. Weinstein remains behind bars due to his California conviction.

Weinstein’s New York case went to trial again in 2025. However, the jury was deadlocked on the third-degree rape charge. A third trial is in the works.
