After launching the chunky Jellyfish to widespread acclaim in 2025, including the FN Achievement Award for Shoe of the Year, Pharrell Williams and Adidas are pivoting to a new model with a low-profile and a cheeky inclusion of “flat earther” in its name.

The Pharrell x Adidas Vario Flat Earther is minimalist across the board, from its thin and flat midsole to its simple, shrouded upper. Off-white leather is used for the upper with few defined panels beside the velcro strap that sweeps across the toe box carrying Adidas’ three stripes motif. A few stitched lines define the heel, while the portion of the medial toe not covered by the shroud is hit with a series of perforated dots. Adidas’ mountain logo graces the toe and heel, while the outsole carries contoured outlines with repeating “Virginia” text embossed.

Both colorways that have surfaced employ the same cream base and then divert with either green or black for its branding elements and outsole.

The Vario Flat Earther arrives years into the low-profile sneaker trend largely indebted to the Adidas Samba and with an aesthetic similar to the brand’s Taekwondo. It also serves a stark contrast to the Jellyfish, which reworked the 2005 Adistar Cushion 3 running shoe with robust sole unit and bulging TPU paneling on its upper.

Those put off by the Jellyfish’s $300 price tag will be relieved to see the new silhouette will come in at more than half the cost.

Images of the Vario Flat Earther come via leaks, but Williams himself teased its outsole along with similar looks at new colorways for the Jellyfish and a mysterious third silhouette in an Instagram post.

The Pharrell x Adidas Vario Flat Earther will release on April 4 through Adidas’ app. Pricing is set at $140.
