Laguna Beach alum Kristin Cavallari has a surprising connection to The Real Housewives of Orange County OG cast member, Vicki Gunvalson.

“I used to be obsessed with The [Real] Housewives of Orange County,” Cavallari, 39, exclusively told Us Weekly while attending The Reunion: Laguna Beach L.A. premiere at the Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica, California, on Thursday, March 26.

“I haven’t seen it in years, but I know Gretchen [Rossi],” she continued. “Like, I know Gretchen is obviously not on it anymore, but like the original crew, yes. This is actually funny — Vicki, her daughter, Briana, and I went to school together freshman year, before I moved to Laguna Beach.”

The Hills star added, “She was one of my best friends. No one knows that. So, I know — or knew — Vicki really well.”

The “OG of the OC” Gunvalson, 64, was an original Housewife — alongside Jeana Keough, Lauri Waring, Jo De La Rosa and Kimberly Bryant — when the hit Bravo show first debuted in 2006. While taping The Bravos at BravoCon in Las Vegas in November 2025, Andy Cohen confirmed Gunvalson would be returning to her reality TV roots in a surprise announcement that thrilled fans — and some RHOC stars — alike.

“When I went out there, Andy wanted me to give Kandi Burruss the Wifetime Achievement Award, and he gave me a week’s notice,” Gunvalson exclusively told Us at the time. “I prepared a speech, and I went up on stage, and it wasn’t on the prompter.”

She continued, “When he asked me about season 20, I was really somber going out there because I thought, ‘This is my last time on stage. This is my last time with BravoCon. They’re putting me out to pasture. I’m going to kick and scream the whole way out, but I’m going to do it.’ And then, when he asked me, it took me a while for me to understand that this is my next life now for at least a year.”

Fans met Cavallari, of course, when she made her reality TV debut in 2004 on MTV’s Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, quickly becoming a breakout star of the hit early aughts show. More than two decades later, Cavallari is reuniting with her OG castmates Lauren Conrad, Stephen Colletti, Lo Bosworth, Talan Torriero, Trey Phillips, Christina Schuller, Dieter Schmitz, Jessica Smith, Alex Hooser and Morgan Smith for The Reunion: Laguna Beach, premiering April 10 on Roku.

“A lot of people were hesitant,” Conrad, 40, exclusively told Us on Thursday. “Like, I had to call Christina, Morgan and Loa and they asked me really honest questions. They were like, ‘We all live pretty quiet lives. Do we want to do this again?’ We just really talked it out. So, yeah — everyone had really healthy hesitancies.”

She continued, “Walking away from the days that we shot, everyone separately got emails and texts being like, ‘That was so great. I’m so glad we did it.’ It was a really positive experience.”
