LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers Announces Finalists

Looks like luxury fashion houses already have a pool of talent to pull from for the next generation of creative directors. On Friday, the LVMH Prize announced the nine finalists for its 2026 competition, narrowed down from its list of 20 semifinalists (out of more than 2,400 applicants). 

This year’s finalists are: Colleen Allen (United States), Gabriel Figueiredo of De Pino (France), Galib Gassanoff of Institution (Georgia), Julie Kegels (Belgium), Zane Li of Lii (China), Petra Fagerström (Sweden), Harry Pontefract of Ponte (United Kingdom), Daniel del Valle Fernandez of The Vxlley (Spain) and Anil Padia of Yoshita 1967 (Kenya).

On Sept. 4, they’ll present their collections to the Prize Jury at the Foundation Louis Vuitton in Paris. Sitting on the jury are top names in the industry, including Jonathan Anderson, Sarah Burton, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Nicolas Ghesquière, Marc Jacobs, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, Phoebe Philo, Michael Rider and Pharrell Williams, among others.

The LVMH Prize winner will take home a €400,000 endowment (approximately $468,000) and receive a one-year tailored mentorship by LVMH teams. Finalists also compete for the Karl Lagerfeld Prize and the Savoir-Faire Prize, which comes with a €200,000 endowment and a year-long mentorship at LVMH. Additionally, each winner will join the design studio of one of the LVMH Houses for one year and receive an extra €10,000, which will be given to the school from which they graduated.

“This shortlist illustrates the Prize’s reach, with designers from the United States, Europe, China and, for the first time, Kenya. The finalists demonstrated a singular creative vision while offering highly sophisticated interpretations of traditional craftsmanship,” Delphine Arnault, chairman and chief executive officer of Christian Dior Couture, said in a press statement. “I warmly congratulate the finalists and look forward to welcoming them to the LVMH Prize final, which will be held at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris.”

He was 11-2 with a 3.29 ERA in 21 starts in 2023 before he underwent Tommy John surgery that August. </p> </section><section id="section-3"> <p>After missing the entire 2024 season while rehabbing, McClanahan suffered a left triceps injury in a 2025 spring training game. He eventually underwent surgery to repair nerves in his triceps area, causing him to miss a second straight season. </p> </section><section id="section-4"> <p>Saturday will mark McClanahan’s fifth start of 2026. He comes in off a 6-3 loss at Pittsburgh last Sunday in a game in which he allowed four runs on eight hits in 4 1/3 innings, with no walks and five strikeouts. </p> </section><section id="section-5"> <p>Perhaps the more important stats, however, came on the radar gun. McClanahan’s velocity improved to an average of 95.5 mph on his fastball, and he had seven pitches that touched 97 mph or more. He had accomplished that feat just twice in his first three outings. </p> </section><section id="section-6"> <p>“I felt today was probably the best I’ve thrown all year — in a really long time, for that matter,” McClanahan, 28, told MLB.com. “Unfortunately, it doesn’t go your way sometimes. Obviously, it was a great step (and) felt good, but I want to win.” </p> </section><section id="section-7"> <p>“I was very encouraged by Shane’s outing,” Rays manager Kevin Cash said. “The velocity alone was encouraging to see. Very happy. I think he took a big step.” </p> </section><section id="section-8"> <p>Minnesota has lost seven of the past eight games. Tampa Bay enters action on Saturday in second place in the American League East, just 2 1/2 games behind the New York Yankees. Jamshedpur FC thrashes Chennaiyin FC, reignites ISL title hopes <div id="content-body-70906447" itemprop="articleBody"><p>Jamshedpur FC produced a commanding performance to defeat Chennaiyin FC 4-1 in Indian Super League 2025-26 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Saturday.</p><p>A brace by Sanan Mohammed, along with goals from Raphaël Messi Bouli and Nikola Stojanović, secured three points for the host after five matches. It climbs to fourth in the standings with 18 points, while Chennaiyin FC remains 10th with nine points.</p><p>Jamshedpur took the lead in the seventh minute through Sanan. A well-worked move down the right saw Rosenberg Gabriel deliver a low cross into the box. While Messi Bouli failed to connect, the ball fell to Sanan’s foot, who fired home from close range to give the host an early advantage.</p><p>The momentum stayed with Jamshedpur, which continued to press forward and create chances through Talal and Stojanović, both of whom came close from distance. Chennaiyin, however, remained a threat on the break and was unlucky not to equalise when Irfan Yadwad struck the post following a neat pass from Mandar Dessai.</p><p>Jamshedpur doubled its lead in the 27th minute.
