IndieWire and Andreessen Horowitz, Cultural Leadership Fund to Present ‘Music, Film & the New Storytelling Stack’ Event at Cannes

The process of how art gets made seems to change every day, with new technologies disrupting old workflows and evolving methods of distribution and monetization. If you’re attending the Cannes Film Festival and interested in an up-to-the-minute discussion of current production methods, consider heading to The American Pavilion on Sunday.

IndieWire is partnering with Andreessen Horowitz, Cultural Leadership Fund and Masters vs Machine for “Music, Film & the New Storytelling Stack — Co-Authoring What Comes Next,” a can’t-miss event featuring a live collaboration between composer Roahn Hylton, who will compose music on the spot, and Krea co-founder and chief technology officer Diego Rodriguez, who will be building visuals to accompany the music alongside him in real time.

The experiment will be followed by a fireside conversation between promise studios co-founder and chief creative officer Dave Clark and Cultural Leadership Fund partner Judene Smalls about the current state of studio models and the process of scaling creative products.

Andreessen Horowitz, Cultural Leadership Fund convenes the channels — music, film, tools, audience, policy — that are co-authoring what comes next.

The event, which takes place at 10am on Sunday, May 17, is open to all American Pavillion members. Anyone interested in attending can RSVP here and purchase American Pavilion membership here. Note that Cannes festival accreditation is required for access to the Pavilion.
