Olivia Rodrigo has a lot of musical influences, ranging from The Cure and riot grrrls to No Doubt and the White Stripes. Her sound can be dreamy and poppy one minute, then raw and punky the next. Her personal style reflects that duality too, but lately she’s been leaning into the punk roots. One day she’s in a ruffly babydoll dres and the next, she’s in leather and a Sex Pistols tee!
For a day out in London, Rodrigo shouted out the iconic British punk band with her choice of T-shirt, a baby pink top with “Anarchy in the U.K.”—one of the band’s most famous songs—written in red atop a photo of a woman with devil horns, plus the band’s instantly recognizable cut-and-paste letter logo.
She paired the tee with an equally punk black leather miniskirt and flat black calf-high boots that would be right at home stomping around the stage, plus black sunglasses and a shoulder bag. (Rodrigo did, however, skip the matching black nail polish in favor of a bare nail.) Band tee plus miniskirt plus boots is a timeless, foolproof outfit combo even if you’re not a world-famous rock star.

Graphic and band tees have long been a cornerstone of Rodrigo’s wardrobe; she loves shouting out her favorite musicians via her wardrobe, and we’ve seen her in tees featuring bands and musicians like Blondie, the Beatles, and Pat Benatar in the past. (And, of course, you can buy Olivia band tees on her website.) We’re not sure if her Sex Pistols tee is vintage or a reproduction, but we do know one thing: while it may be a departure from her current babydoll dress obsession, it still feels very true to her personal style: cute and sweet with a whole lotta edge.
