Clint Eastwood recently turned 96, and if anyone has earned the right to be retired, it’s him. The man has been working constantly for eight decades. There were rumblings that Juror #2 would be his last movie, and his son, Kyle Eastwood, seemingly confirmed his father’s retirement several weeks ago, but not so fast.
Is Clint Eastwood Retired?
ScreenRant recently spoke with Clint’s other son, Scott Eastwood, and asked him to comment on his brother’s retirement remarks.
“We’ll see. I have not heard that from his mouth at all,” Scott said. “So I don’t know what that feels like. His career in general has been something to admire, something to be inspired by, and continues to inspire me. The work, the artistry that he’s done on and off screen. Producing, writing, composing, directing, acting. The body of work is incredible.” So, until we hear it an official announcement from Clint himself, we’ll keep the cake on standby.
Several weeks ago, Kyle said, “I have many fond memories of working with him. Now he’s retired, he’s 95 years old. But I was very lucky to be able to work with him on quite a few films. It was a great experience for me.“
Juror #2
Juror #2 stars Nicholas Hoult as Justin Kemp, a family man who, while serving as a juror in a high-profile murder trial, finds himself struggling with a serious moral dilemma…one he could use to sway the jury verdict and potentially convict – or free – the accused killer.
Warner Bros. came under fire for seemingly burying the film, releasing it in less than 50 theaters. Given Eastwood’s decades-long partnership with the studio, not to mention the billions in box office grosses over that time, you’d think the studio would treat Eastwood’s potentially final movie with a little more respect.
Clint Eastwood Movies
It’s wild to look back at Eastwood’s filmography and see the sheer number of great movies he was in, many of which he also directed. You’ve got a bunch of classic Westerns like the Dollars trilogy, High Plains Drifter, Pale Rider, The Outlaw Josey Wales, and Unforgiven, the Dirty Harry franchise, and so many fantastic movies. The man is a legend.
