Wrongly-Cancelled NCIS Spinoff Sets New Surprise Amid Fan Campaign To Save It

Fans of NCIS: Tony & Ziva will have something new to look forward to.

Marking Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo return in the NCIS franchise, the very first spinoff from the universe that was released on Paramount+ had a lot of buzz going into its release. Aside from the novelty of seeing these characters on streaming after existing solely on traditional broadcast, the fact of the matter is that, fans never really lost hope to see them again despite the actors’ respective departures from the flagship.

In NCIS: Tony & Ziva, the show followed them as they co-parent to Tali in Paris. Their lives were upended, however, by a mysterious incident in Tony’s security firm that put their lives in danger. It set them on a journey across Europe looking for answers while trying to survive. At the end of its season 1 run, the pair was officially back together. That said, those hoping to see more of them were heartbroken when Paramount+ cancelled NCIS: Tony & Ziva.

Now, per an official listing on Amazon, it is confirmed that NCIS: Tony & Ziva season 1 will be available on DVD format starting July 14, 2026. For context, its 13-episode freshman run has been available for purchase on digital format, which includes various additional content. Beyond that, the show can also be streamed on Paramount+. That said, die-hard fans who value physical media will be particularly thrilled about this upcoming release, which is becoming more important nowadays, as everything becomes subscription-based.

It’s uncertain if there is any new material included in the DVD version of NCIS: Tony & Ziva. Perhaps new interviews or bonus content as part of the featurette are being added to it, so it can entice more people to purchase this upcoming viewing format. Regardless, it’s safe to say that anyone who has been a die-hard fan of the character since their time in the original NCIS show will still be at least interested in buying the new release.

The fan-led campaign to save NCIS: Tony & Ziva continues amid the latest changes in the franchise. As confirmed by the official CBS fall 2026 schedule, NCIS season 24 will function as the lead-in to a new spinoff, LL Cool J and Scott Caan’s NCIS: New York. The Super Tuesday block will end with NCIS: Origins season 3 in the fall and NCIS: Sydney season 4 in the winter. No word yet if there is the online petition to continue Tony and Ziva’s story is being considered when discussing the future of the franchise.

If NCIS: Tony & Ziva can’t be saved, perhaps CBS can bring them back together to the mothership, even for just a couple of episodes. With NCIS season 24’s confirmed cast change, Alden Parker’s MCRT may need some trusted allies to reclaim the agency from Gabriel LaRoche. This way, the pair can have a proper reunion with their old teammates while also helping in preserving the legacy of the organization.
