Candace Parker to Headline Variety’s Innovation in TV Brunch  

Variety has announced that WNBA Champion and TV host Candace Parker will be featured in a headline conversation at the Variety Innovation in TV Brunch presented by Google TV, taking place on Wednesday, June 18 during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. 

Parker will be interviewed by Cynthia Littleton, Co-Editor-in-Chief of Variety, in an exclusive session that spotlights her crossover success as a championship athlete, sports commentator, and cultural icon at the intersection of media and influence. 

The brunch, kicking off at 11:30 am, will also feature a Keynote Roundtable: TV Innovation Leaders, gathering top executives who are redefining the television experience in an age of constant transformation. 

The conversation, moderated by Variety’s Cynthia Littleton includes: 

  • Shalini Govil-Pai, VP and GM, Google TV 
  • Ryan Gould, Co-President, Advertising, Warner Bros. Discovery 
  • Nicole Parlapiano, CMO, Tubi 
  • Nicki Sheard, CEO, Brands & Licensing, BBC Studios

This roundtable will explore how the television industry is innovating to captivate modern audiences, build cross-platform fandoms, and create stronger brand-audience connections in an evolving digital landscape.
