“This one changed Hollywood forever.” Cineverse has debuted the full official trailer for an indie film titled Chapter 51, the latest creation from filmmaker Tyler Shields (also of Final Girl, Outlaw). This intriguing indie creation is set for a VOD release next week to watch at home anytime. If you’re curious, give it a spin. A fascinating tale of mystery within Hollywood. During the making of a $500 million film, three actresses are murdered by an unidentified figure known only as the Hollywood Killer. As fear begins to spread across the entire film set, production continues under a new director. Years later, former FBI agent Thomas Scott reopens the case – unraveling a haunting story of ambition, obsession, and the cost of keeping the cameras rolling. It’s a meta thriller with some very stylish cinematography following the unveiling of dark truths – however the suspect pool is vast & deceptive. Starring Abigail Breslin, Colman Domingo, Emily Alyn Lind, Charlotte Lawrence, Dylan Sprayberry, and Connor Paolo. It’s also produced by Giovanni Ribisi. An impressive cast they wrangled up. Tyler Shields himself is also the cinematographer on it – and it states they even shot some of it on IMAX film cameras. Not sure what’s going on in here, but I am intrigued.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Tyler Shields’ latest film Chapter 51, direct from YouTube:

An elusive serial killer known as the Hollywood Killer turns a high-profile film production for a project known as “Dissident” into a grisly crime scene, murdering three actresses and casting a dark shadow over the troubled project. As fear, speculation, and chaos spread behind the cameras, the production becomes forever linked to a case that shocks Hollywood and remains unresolved. Years later, the former FBI agent Thomas Scott (Dylan Sprayberry) reopens the Hollywood cold case, revisiting the events surrounding the murders and uncovering more secrets that refuse to stay buried. Chapter 51 is written and directed by the American indie filmmaker Tyler Shields, director of the films Final Girl, Outlaw, and some other short films + music videos previously. It’s produced by Todd Mandel, Giovanni Ribisi, Tyler Shields. This already premiered last year but hasn’t shown at any festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know. Cineverse debuts Tyler Shields’ Chapter 51 film direct-to-VOD starting on June 23rd, 2026 this summer. Anyone want to watch?
