Ahead of this year’s World Cup, Y-3 is throwing it back to a limited capsule that released for the tournament 20 years ago with hyper-realistic and ultra-aggressive prints.

The Y-3 +F50 Tunit “Beast Pack” dials down the studs from the 2006 cleat collection and turns them into thin-sole sneakers to be worn off the pitch. Four colorways each feature the face of a different beast at the toe, consisting of a silver wolf, yellow tiger, blue dragon and red eagle. Fur, scales or feathers then run back through the rest of the silhouettes, which remain almost completely unchanged from the cleats that dropped 20 years ago.

Studs this time around are tailored to indoor soccer, making them less aggressive and more suitable for wear on the streets. They’re also static, whereas the original cleats could be swapped out with four types of studs.

Branding for Y-3 is kept to a minimum, with heel embossing as the only overt appearance. The logo then appears again on the insole, outsole and inner side of the lace shroud.

Y-3’s original run of +F50 Tunit “Beast” boots were released in extremely limited numbers, with each version only getting 1,000 pairs internationally. Yohji Yamamoto turned to Japanese artist Taishi Hayashi to create the graphics and put the cleats on the runway for his fall 2006 show.

This year, the wolf style made an appearance at Y-3’s Paris Fashion Week show for fall 2026.

Adidas has another sneaker derived from the same soccer franchise on the market through the Taekwondo F50, which mashes up the soccer cleat with the trendy thin-sole sneaker.

The Y-3 +F50 Tunit “Beast Pack” is expected to release during the fall fashion season, which would actually begin in late July at the tail end of the World Cup. Pricing for each is set at $300.
