Ahead of 'Superman's Release, Avoid the Lex Luthor Propaganda and Subscribe to The Daily Planet's Newsletter

The DC Universe has never been more immersive than it is now. Social media users can subscribe to the official Daily Planet Instagram channel. The marketing stunt was created by Warner Bros. in order to promote Superman, the upcoming blockbuster that will allow David Corenswet to become the Last Son of Krypton. Through the channel, fans of the hero will be sent news and articles related to the world of the movie. Warner Bros. launched a direct source of information for everything that happens in the DC Universe ahead of the movie’s release.

Superman will introduce a new version of one of the most popular heroes in history. Clark Kent will attempt to balance his life as the savior of Metropolis and as a journalist for the Daily Planet, while Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) will try for everyone in the world to view the Kryptonian as a menace. Warner Bros. is launching a new DC Universe on the big screen with Superman. The Instagram channel based on the Daily Planet will make fans excited for the blockbuster by allowing them to step into Kal-El’s world.

Superman will confront many enemies once he makes his way to the big screen this summer, but plenty of allies will ensure the titular hero never feels alone. Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan), another journalist from the Daily Planet, will be introduced as Clark’s love interest. The star from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will bring a new spin on the classic DC Comics character. Superman’s loyal dog, Krypto, has also been heavily featured in the movie’s marketing campaign.

A New Universe Full of Heroes

It’s hard to mark the start of a new cinematic universe. Previous comic book hero stories, such as Man of Steel, introduced a limited number of powerful characters in order to get audiences used to the tone of the franchise. That won’t be the case for James Gunn‘s take on Superman. Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion) and Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced) will be present in this story, with other established heroes and villains from the pages of DC Comics showing up for Clark’s wholesome adventure.

James Gunn, Peter Safran and Warner Bros. are working on other movies that will expand this universe beyond the events of Superman. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will see Milly Alcock playing Kara Zor-El, after the young actress impressed the world with her performance as Rhaenyra Targaryen in House of the Dragon. After that, the studio will find an actor to step into the role of Clayface, the frightening Batman villain capable of changing his physical appearance.

Superman flies into theaters on July 11. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
