All-day park picnics, outdoor music festivals, and a total embrace of flânerie, it’s no summer in New York without time—and lots of it—spent outdoors. As Teen Vogue Fest came to a conclusion on Saturday, July 25, an eager crowd of teens and 20-somethings was just starting to form, and rather quickly, for Frost Children’s Frost Fest at the sprawling, indoor-outdoor Knockdown Center in Queens.

Frost Fest came fresh off the heels of Tweaker Poem, the New York-based music duo’s latest EP, which was born out of one sleepless, 24-hour studio session in Tokyo at the start of the year. Pulling from the siblings’ own experience with a stalker, the six frenzied songs center on “the tweaker,” an obsessive fan so far gone in a fantasy of those they idolize that they lose all grasp on reality. “It’s one of the first times people, more or less, unanimously really love a release of ours,” Lulu Prost, one-half of Frost Children, tells Teen Vogue.

Adds sister Angel Prost, “It feels crazier than Sister, but people received it even faster. It’s cool they’re into our weirder stuff.”

And for the festival, a follow-up to their 2024 installment of the same name, it’s all just a grand hangout. “We wanted it to be a big show in New York that had the kind of artists we like and have worked on random sessions with,” Angel explains, citing the likes of LA-based Ilykimchi, K-electronic Kimj, and alt-Japanese idol group Pinponpanpon, who are each bringing something new to their respective, oft-overlapping, musical realms. “It was an excuse to bring them all to one place,” Angel adds.

So, too, did the city teens, summer interns, and dubstep academics show up to one place for the sold-out happening, dressed in plaids, polo tees, and chunky bangles galore. Teen Vogue: It’s been a little under a month since Tweaker Poem was released. Tell me about the reception.
