The Summer Game Fest is in full swing, with first looks at a variety of video games being presented, but here are a few that might just catch your interest, including the long-awaited Alien: Isolation 2. There’s also a game based on the acclaimed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, as well as a Saw game set after World War I.

Alien: Isolation 2

Creative Assembly dropped a brief teaser last month, but this new teaser gives us a better idea of what we’re in for, as the sequel will take place on a planet rather than a ship, with the action unfolding on a colony known as Kuraski Station. The game will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and the Nintendo Switch 2.

Fans have been demanding a sequel for years, and Creative Assembly’s Creative Director, Al Hope, said they were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support. “It’s been nothing short of incredible to witness [the fans’] passion for the game over the years and see it reach so many players around the world,” he said. “It was a dream project brought to life by a brilliant team, and the reception you have given it over the years is extraordinary.“

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin is based on the comic mini-series written by TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz. Developed by Platinum Games and published by Paramount Games Studio, The Last Ronin is described as an AAA action-adventure game based on the popular comic book series, following the last surviving Ninja Turtle as he embarks on a desperate mission for vengeance.

Paramount Pictures was actually developing an R-rated adaptation of The Last Ronin with Nobody filmmaker Ilya Naishuller in talks to direct, but unfortunately, the project was scrapped because “the new regime wasn’t keen on having the first non-animated movie in 10 years be a bloody, adult-skewing story.”

Saw Genesis

And then there’s Saw Genesis, a game based on the popular horror franchise, but this one is a little different. It takes place in the aftermath of World War I and follows the Judge, a man who inspired Jigsaw’s philosophy.

It will be a 3v1 multiplayer horror game where three Accused must work together to escape a maze of traps, while one Judge orchestrates their rehabilitation. Built for short, intense matches where no two trials play out the same way, it will take place on procedurally generated maps

The description reads: “Step into the role of the Judge, an early architect of Jigsaw’s philosophy, manipulating the trial and its prisoners from behind the scenes. Or play as one of three Accused looking to escape the deadly labyrinth through teamwork and sacrifice. Shaped by their experiences in The Great War, the Judge is dedicated to rehabilitating humanity through pain and sacrifice.“

The description continues, “Customize your approach with perks and traps, then seek to control the match from the shadows. Unlike other asymmetrical multiplayer games, the Judge is physically vulnerable and cannot overpower the Accused through sheer force alone. Your goal is to rehabilitate the Accused, making them choose between life and limb rather than killing them. Live or die. They make their choice.“
