The Rapids (4-3-0, 12 points) posted a 6-2 home rout of the Houston Dynamo last Saturday. Rafael Navarro and Kosi Thompson each scored a brace and Josh Atencio also scored for Colorado. The Rapids also added an own goal from Houston in the first minute of second-half stoppage time. Conversely, just four months after its first MLS Cup title, Inter Miami coach Javier Mascherano resigned for personal reasons on Tuesday. The Herons (3-1-3, 12 points) tied the New York Red Bulls 2-2 last Saturday and turned to sporting director Guillermo Hoyos as interim coach. Hoyos’ relationship with Miami’s star forward Lionel Messi, who leads the team with five goals, dates back more than 20 years to their time together at Barcelona’s La Masia academy. “Friendship is not negotiated,” said Hoyos about Messi. “There is a friendship there, one that has spanned various years, and one that we share with many players because we have worked together in different countries. “Yet, that friendship does not mean that we can be right on top of him, constantly hovering over him, every single day. I believe that everything must be respected: his privacy, and everything else. “One must exercise great prudence, and, above all, proceed quietly, while striving to grow and evolve within this dynamic. For, naturally, all of this is new, and being alongside the greatest player in history is truly an extraordinary experience on the pitch. I am grateful, deeply grateful.” After its dominant performance, Colorado coach Matt Wells, Navarro, Thompson and Atencio were all named to the Team of the Matchday. The Rapids have scored 19 goals on the season, which is tied with the Vancouver Whitecaps for the most in Major League Soccer. Colorado’s Dante Sealy scored a goal in a 1-0 U.S. Open Cup match against Union Omaha on Tuesday. The 23-year-old forward is still in search of his first MLS goal in a Rapids’ uniform. “I had him in my office and told him to focus on the process, the habits — and the goals are only an outcome,” Wells said of Sealy. “If you start focusing on the goals you are in trouble.” –Field Level Media #Deadspin #Rapids #seek #spoil #debut #Inter #Miami #coach #Guillermo #Hoyos

IPL 2026: Rahane focusses on positives after KKR’s loss, explains why Green didn’t bowl <div id="content-body-70876460" itemprop="articleBody"><p>Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Ajinkya Rahane admitted it was another demoralising defeat but chose to focus on the positives, particularly Cameron Green’s return to form, with the all-rounder producing a solid knock after a lean run in the loss to Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Friday.</p><p>KKR is yet to find its winning formula, slumping to a fifth defeat this season. It is languishing at the bottom of the table with just one point — earned from a rain-abandoned game against Punjab Kings.</p><p>“It’s never easy to come out and talk immediately after losing a game. But I’d like to focus on the positives. The way we started, losing three wickets early, it was tough,” said Rahane after the five-wicket loss.</p><p>With Green finally finding his rhythm with a 79 off 55 balls after a string of underwhelming scores, it did put Gujarat Titans under pressure in the middle overs.</p><p>“Cameron Green’s innings was outstanding, he was under pressure, but the way he counterattacked and took on their bowlers was amazing to see. At 147 for four, getting to around 180 was slightly difficult for us as a batting unit,” he added.</p><p>He also praised his bowlers, noting that despite a string of losses, they have stayed motivated — something that was evident in their effort on Friday.</p><p>“I still want to credit our bowlers. It’s not easy when things aren’t going your way, but they kept coming back and pushing hard.”</p><p>Asked why Green didn’t bowl, Rahane said “He was actually struggling with cramps, which is why he was in and out of the field.” GT skipper Shubman Gill said he would have preferred to finish the game a couple of overs earlier rather than take it deep.</p><p>Gill struck an elegant 86 and looked set to seal the chase, but was dismissal in the 17th over.</p><p>“Ideally we would have liked to finish it at least a couple of overs before. I’d really would have liked to finish at least another couple of overs before and I was quite disappointed with the way I got out. I wanted to be there till the end and finish it,” said Gill.</p><p class="publish-time" id="end-of-article">Published on Apr 18, 2026</p></div> #IPL #Rahane #focusses #positives #KKRs #loss #explains #Green #didnt #bowl

36 Problem-Solving Products That’ll Make You Feel So Much Relief, You Might Shed A Tear

England and Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer revealed that he has no plans to move away from Chelsea despite rumours of his transfer to Manchester United.

“Everyone just talks,” he told The Guardian in an interview, talking about his transfer rumours.

“When I see it, I just laugh. Obviously, Manchester is my home. All my family are there, but I don’t miss it. Maybe I’ll miss it if I don’t go for three months or something. But then, when I get home, I think there’s nothing there for me anyway.

Palmer, born and brought up in Manchester, came through the Manchester City academy before making his first-team debut in 2020 under Pep Guardiola in a League Cup match against Burnley.

However, limited first-team opportunities saw him move to London, joining Chelsea in 2023 for a reported £42.5m fee.

He has prospered at the Premier League side since, breaking Arjen Robben’s record of most goal contributions by a player aged 21 or younger, and scoring 53 goals and assisting 32 more for the Blues.

Palmer, whose contract runs until 2033, maintained that he does not see himself signing for any other club anytime soon.

“I’ve got no plans to move from Chelsea. We’ve still got a lot to play for. We’ve got the FA Cup semifinal [against Leeds], and if we finish in a Champions League spot, it puts us in a good position to sign players that we need. We spoke to the owners, and they’re sure of the players that are gonna do it,” Palmer added.
