John Harbaugh, the top name in the NFL’s coaching carousel, reportedly is set to take the New York Giants’ head-coaching job.

The former Baltimore Ravens head coach was close to completing a deal with the Giants late Wednesday night, ESPN reported.

Terms of the agreement were not finalized, per the report.

After leading the Ravens to the playoffs 12 times in 18 seasons on the job, Harbaugh was fired last week after Baltimore finished the campaign 8-9 and failed to make the postseason. The Ravens missed a last-second field-goal attempt in the season finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers, a kick that would have sent them to the playoffs had it been made.

Harbaugh, 63, amassed a 180-113 regular-season mark as Baltimore’s coach, plus a 13-11 playoff record. He guided the Ravens to the Super Bowl championship after the 2012 season, beating the San Francisco 49ers (coached by his brother Jim) for the title.

Nine NFL teams currently have head-coaching vacancies, and Harbaugh reportedly was in high demand.

His first interview after his ouster from the Ravens was with the Giants.

Harbaugh hosted Giants senior player personnel executive Chris Mara for lunch at Harbaugh’s house on Sunday. Mara’s brother John is co-owner of the franchise along with Steve Tisch.

The Atlanta Falcons conducted a video interview with Harbaugh on Monday, and the Tennessee Titans reportedly were set to speak with him on Thursday.

Giants general manager Joe Schoen admitted this month he has been researching candidates for more than two months since Brian Daboll was fired with a 20-40-1 record after the Giants’ 10th game. One of those losses was a 35-14 defeat at the hands of Harbaugh and the Ravens in 2024.

Harbaugh’s record of success with quarterback Lamar Jackson, a first-round pick in 2018, was impeccable: The Ravens’ 86 wins from 2018-25 trail only the Kansas City Chiefs’ 96.

During the same timeframe, the Giants had just one winning season — Daboll guided them to a 9-7-1 mark in 2022. New York went 4-13 this season after finishing 3-14 in 2024.

Arizona center Motiejus Krivas is returning for the 2026-27 season after a breakout junior campaign for the Wildcats.

The school announced the news on social media Monday with the caption, “Go ahead and add him to your preseason POY watch list now. Mount Krivas is back!”


The 7-foot-2 Krivas averaged less than eight points in less than 16 minutes per game in each of his first two seasons with the Wildcats. This past season, he amassed 10.4 points (fourth-most on the team), 8.2 rebounds (second) and 1.9 blocks per game (fourth nationally), helping Arizona reach the Final Four for the first time since 2001.

With his return for a fourth season in Tucson, he’ll be the first player to start and finish a four-year career at Arizona under Tommy Lloyd.

He’s likely to be a critical piece of the team with freshmen Brayden Burries and Koa Peat declaring for the NBA Draft. The Wildcats have added a pair of guards through the portal: North Carolina transfer Derek Dixon and Washington transfer JJ Mandaquit.

The London Marathon broke the record ​for the highest number ‌of finishers in a marathon, ​with 59,830 participants ⁠completing the course to surpass the mark of 59,226 at last ‌year’s New York City event.

Kenya’s Sabastian Sawe ‌shattered the world record ‌to ⁠become the first ⁠man to run the marathon in under two hours, followed by Ethiopia’s ​Yomif Kejelcha, ‌who also breached the two-hour barrier on Sunday.

“To then break the record of ‌the largest number of ​finishers in the history of marathons underlines the ⁠inspirational nature of the London Marathon. We are incredibly ‌proud to have set a new Guinness World Record,” said Hugh Brasher, CEO of London Marathon Events.
