Dracula’s Brides Are Explored in Book II Preview | Exclusive

ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive excerpt of Dark Horse’s Dracula: Book II — The Brides, the second in a series of graphic novels that tells the story between the lines of Bram Stoker’s classic 1897 novel.

What is Dracula: Book II — The Brides about?

The Dracula series of books comes from acclaimed comic book creators Matt Wagner (Mage) and Kelley Jones (The Sandman, Batman: Red Rain), with Book II the follow-up to 2024’s Dracula: Book 1 — The Impaler. A third book, Dracula: Book III — The Count, is also being crowdfunded now on Kickstarter, with a litany of rewards available to those who fund the project, ranging from digital items all the way to art prints.

Dracula: Book II — The Brides will release on November 18, 2025, and will dive deeper into the story of Dracula’s brides, as well as the lives they faced before they came into contact with and eventually married the classic horror icon.

The 120-page entry is the second in a four-part series and will be available in stores or online for $29.99. In a statement by writer Matt Wagner, he describes the book as a way to dive deeper into the story of Dracula’s iconic vampiric brides.

“One of the most eerie and memorable parts of the Dracula legend is the presence of his vamipiric Brides,” says writer Matt Wagner. “In both the novel and the litany of screen adaptations, the appearance of these beautiful and seductive sirens is always an indelible part of the narrative. And, of course, this presents us with yet another dark and beguiling story to be told. Who were these women before they became part of Dracula’s sinister harem? How and why did he come to claim them as his undead paramours? And what role do they ultimately play in his ongoing saga?”

Alongside Wagner as a writer, the book also credits Kelley Jones and Rob Leigh as artists and José Villarrubia as colorist. Jones and Wagner also contributed as the cover artists.
