There are countless iconic characters who won over fans’ hearts throughout HBO’s Game of Thrones, thanks to a combination of unforgettable performances from the cast and the compelling narrative arcs adapted from George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series.
While Game of Thrones featured no shortage of Emmy-worthy performances, Iain Glen’s portrayal of Ser Jorah Mormont remains one of the series’ most brilliant. Despite having a lesser role than the likes of Peter Dinklage or Emilia Clarke, Glen nevertheless turned Jorah into one of the show’s most beloved and sympathetic characters, earning widespread praise for his understated, heartfelt performance.
Aside from Glen’s performance, Jorah the Andal’s character arc and backstory remain among the most underrated of the series as well. Fortunately, Jorah is finally getting the recognition he deserves in a brand-new release that gives fans another chance to celebrate one of Game of Thrones’ most compelling characters (via GoT Legends).
The latest “Kingsroad” season in Zynga’s Game of Thrones: Legends shines the spotlight on one of Westeros’ most loyal warriors with Jorah the Andal serving as the featured Legendary Champion. Running from July 20 through August 17, this season’s progression rewards players for completing daily and weekly objectives, unlocking a variety of resources as they climb through the Kingsroad tiers.
While GoT: Legends‘ seasonal content carries the “Kingsroad” descriptor, it has no association with the Game of Thrones: Kingsroad RPG from Netmarble.
Players who purchase the Goldroad Pass can earn exclusive Jorah Mormont (The Exiled Andal) Champion Shards, while the Elite Goldroad Pass adds premium rewards including Legendary Gear, Skill Books, Valyrian Essence, Exalted Tokens, and additional summon currencies to help beef up player rosters.
Game of Thrones: Legends is a free-to-play mobile puzzle RPG that combines match-three combat with RPG-esque systems and progression elements. Players recruit and upgrade iconic heroes, villains, and dragons from various GoT IPs, including Game of Thrones itself, House of the Dragon, and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
Jorah’s featured role in the latest Legends season is a fitting tribute to one of the franchise’s most beloved characters, giving longtime fans another opportunity to unlock the steadfast knight while earning seasonal rewards throughout the month-long event.
While match-three RPGs certainly won’t appeal to everyone, Game of Thrones: Legends has proven to be one of the more popular licensed mobile games on the market. The game currently boasts a 4.5-star rating on Google Play across more than 30,000 reviews, while the App Store version sits even higher at 4.8 stars, with many players praising its addictive progression loop and frequent content updates, as well as how it faithfully and reliably incorporates content from both HBO’s Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon.
