“The Spin is ‘like the last chord of a gig you didn’t want to end.'” Tull Stories has revealed an official trailer for an Irish road trip movie titled The Spin, made by actor / filmmaker Michael Head. This already opened in Ireland in October last years but it’s just now getting a UK release this winter in theaters. Though we’re still waiting to find out when it’ll get a US release. Two music-loving but unlikely friends have two days to travel the length of Ireland to save their struggling record store from closure. For one of them, not having a car is just one of the many problems. As they navigate their beautiful journey from Omagh in North Ireland to Cork in the south, they meet plenty of locals and make new friends along the way. A fun and off-the-wall buddy movie, The Spin is based upon a semi-autobiographical short story by real Omagh music star Mark McCausland (The Lost Brothers, The Basement, McKowski), who also provides its beautiful folk music soundtrack. This stars Brenock O’Connor & Owen Colgan as the main duo, with Tara Lynne O’Neill, Maura Higgins, Kimberly Wyatt, and Leah O’Rourke. Looks wholesome & funny enough for a watch.

This sweet & uplifting Irish road movie packs in the laughs as it follows Dermot (Brenock O’Connor) and Elvis (Owen Colgan), two music lovers who run a struggling record shop in Omagh, Northern Ireland. Facing an unpaid rent bill and their vicious landlord Sadie (Derry Girls’ Tara Lynne O’Neill), who’s eager to get them out of her building, the pair stumble across a deal too good to be true – rare, vintage records of blues legend Robert Johnson for sale in Cork at a price too good to be true. If they can get to the other end of Ireland in time, then maybe they could get the rare vinyl, and save the shop… With just two days to get there the pair head off in a rusty Vauxhall as old as the hills heading towards the south of Ireland. The Spin is directed by British actor / filmmaker Michael Head, director of the film Bermondsey Tales: Fall of the Roman Empire previously. The screenplay is written by Colin Broderick, from an original story by Mark McCausland. This premiered last year and opened in Ireland last fall. Tull Stories debuts Head’s The Spin in UK cinemas on February 27th, 2026 – visit the official site. No US release date is set yet. Look any good?
