It feels like a perfect night for Taylor Swift to celebrate Lena Dunham. 

And that’s why the “22” singer stepped out in New York May 12 alongside her other longtime pal Ashley Avignone to attend the Girls creator’s 40th birthday dinner at Via Carota in the West Village. 

Naturally, Lena had plenty of other stars from her inner circle joining in on the celebration, including her Girls costar and longtime friend Andrew Rannells, as well as Emily Ratajkowski, who starred in Lena’s 2025 Netflix show Too Much. 

Rounding out the intimate celebration was Lena’s husband Luis Felber, whom she married in 2021, and French film director Romain Gavras. 

While the attendees were all seen entering and leaving the event—with Lena revealing one of her guests brought her a pink lava lamp in a paparazzi photo—Andrew gave an inside look at the party, sharing a selfie of himself, Lena, Taylor and Romain cozying up in the Italian trattoria.
