Lilly Krug & Connor Storrie in Futuristic Thriller ‘April X’ Official Trailer

“I just want my sister back!” Sunrise Films & Rialto Distribution have unveiled an official trailer for the film titled April X, an indie sci-fi thriller from filmmaker Michel K. Parandi. He’s making his feature directorial debut working on this film. It premiered at festivals last year and will be out in US theaters this September. In the near future, twin siblings Bax & April (Storrie & Krug) struggle to survive at the margins of a hyper-capitalist city where technology quietly governs life and death. When April disappears after trying to protect him from a criminal network, Bax spirals into guilt & isolation. Haunted by visions of his sister, he descends into a violent underworld in search of the truth, confronting the cost of identity, love, and survival. Starring Lilly Krug and Connor Storrie (from Heated Rivalry), with Tudor Chirila, Serban Pavlu, Tourialay Akbari. This was filmed in Budapest, Romania and features solid low budget visuals – with cinematography by Matthew Atticus Berger. They’re obviously going for a Blade Runner 2049 vibe in here, though the story doesn’t seem that original or interesting to follow. If you are into sci-fi cinema, this is worth a look anyway.

As he digs deeper, a sinister conspiracy threatens to consume them both in this sci-fi noir thriller. Filmed on location in Bucharest, Romania, April X is a fast-paced paranoid film noir, using lurid, neon-lit streetscapes to evoke the fractured nature of Bax’s mind and the enigmatic nature of human memory. April X is directed by international filmmaker Michel K. Parandi, making his feature directorial debut after a few shorts and music videos previously. The screenplay is written by Michel K. Parandi & Jack Coulton. Produced by Lavinia Postolache & Michel K. Parandi. This initially premiered at the 2025 Flickers’ Rhode Island Film Festival one year ago. Vertigo Releasing debuts Parandi’s April X sci-fi film in select US theaters starting on September 18th, 2026 coming up soon. Anyone want to watch this?
