Megyn Kelly Goes Off On Meghan Markle Over The Duchess's Pregnant Twerking Video: 'Disrespectful'

Meghan Markle‘s viral pregnant twerking video, which seemingly posted to debunk conspiracy theories about her giving birth to her kids, has reignited them instead.

Critics, such as journalist Megyn Kelly, slammed it as “disrespectful,” while making wild claims about the US-based royal.

Conspiracy theorists also questioned the authenticity of Meghan Markle’s pregnancy, but an expert has refuted these claims, citing medical explanations for the duchess’s movement and appearance.

Megyn Kelly didn’t hold back in her criticism of Meghan following the viral twerking video filmed shortly before Lilibet’s birth.

On her podcast, “The Megyn Kelly Show,” the conservative commentator called the clip “deeply problematic” and accused Meghan of using it as a PR move to appear more relatable.

Kelly questioned Meghan’s motives, saying no video would make the public like her again.

“We don’t like you, and no amount of posting videos that you think are going to humanize you will make us like you. You’ve already shown us your true colors,” the journalist stated, per The Wrap.

Kelly continued: “You helped kill the queen. You didn’t give two sh-ts about calling the royal family racist while Prince Philip was on his deathbed and casting aspersions on him. You have completely undermined all the amazing gifts that this family has given you as nothing and suggested that they didn’t care you were suicidal, and they were the ones who drove you there.”

Kelly further criticized Meghan’s decision to film her pregnancy dance video, claiming that such “moments that are supposed to be between a husband and a wife only, and the moments before you give birth to your child are one of them.”

The journalist added, “When you are together in that room and your child is coming, and maybe you may have a fun moment. This is not how I spent my moments before giving birth, but maybe you do have a fun moment, but it’s private.”

Kelly continued her rant: “It’s actually holy, and for her to need to make it into an ego trip, which she’s clearly doing — ‘Look at me dancing. I’m still fun and I’m sexy, and I have this great marriage. And here’s Harry being like a normal guy’ — is disrespectful to the moment, to the child and, truly, to the sanctity of what goes on for any humans who are actually in that situation.”

Expert Warns Meghan Markle’s Viral Video May Have Backfired In Debunking Surrogacy Conspiracies

Dr. Sander van der Linden, a social psychology professor at the University of Cambridge, told The Telegraph that Meghan’s dancing video could have been part of a strategy to counter bizarre online rumors.

However, he cautioned that “in an age where all videos are suspect in terms of being AI-manipulated, it creates an extra cloud of confusion.”

Professor van der Linden believes that the conspiracy theories claiming Meghan used a surrogate or wore a fake pregnancy belly, often referred to as a “moonbump,” originated in 2019 during her pregnancy with Archie, pushed by a small but vocal group of critics.

He explained that efforts to debunk such conspiracies can sometimes backfire.

“Generally, the more you try and refute a conspiracy theory, the more you fuel the idea that there’s something to it,” he said. “It legitimises it – why would you respond unless it’s something credible? There are some exceptions, where people can successfully dismiss conspiracy theories with humour and sarcasm, which is maybe what [Meghan] was attempting to do here.”

Still, van der Linden claimed the strategy seems to have misfired as “It provides lots of material for people to cling onto, saying, ‘Look, she’s wearing a prosthetic bump,’ or suggesting videos are deepfakes.”

Meghan Markle Shared Her Video To Celebrate Her Daughter’s Birthday

The online conspiracy storm began after Meghan shared a video of herself and Harry dancing in what appeared to be a hospital room, a lighthearted moment meant to induce labor before Lilibet’s birth.

The clip showed a visibly pregnant Meghan twerking playfully in a black gown, while Harry danced alongside her in a grey hoodie and jeans.

Posting the video on Instagram to celebrate Lilibet’s fourth birthday, Meghan wrote: “Four years ago today, this also happened.”

She continued, “Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work – there was only one thing left to do!”
