Michael Fassbender’s Spy Thriller With A Perfect RT Audience Score Finally Returns This Month

Michael Fassbender’s fan-favorite spy thriller series with a perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes audience score returns in just a few weeks on Paramount+. After releasing somewhat quietly in late 2024, this spy thriller series has one of the most stacked casts on the streaming platform right now, led by Fassbender, Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith, Richard Gere, John Magaro, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, and more.

Fassbender, known for his standout roles in films like Inglourious Basterds, Steve Jobs, Black Bag, The Killer, and more, and has only starred in a handful of television series throughout the years, including one of the greatest of all time, Band of Brothers. The celebrated actor delivers a powerhouse performance as CIA operative Martian in The Agency, which returns with a second season soon on Paramount+

The Agency Returns With Season 2 On Paramount+ This Month

The Agency is finally returning on Paramount+ this summer, releasing all 10 season 2 episodes at once on June 21, 2026. Unlike season 1, which was released in weekly installments, The Agency season 2 will become completely available all at once, making it ideal to binge from start to finish in just a few sittings. The Agency is based on the critically acclaimed French series The Bureau and follows a similar plot in which Fassbender’s CIA agent is abruptly called back from an undercover assignment but struggles to let go of his secret romance.

While Martian’s relationship issues certainly provide a throughline in The Agency season 1 that adds complexity and duality to his character, the series expands much further than this central narrative with other characters at the agency and their various assignments. Martian is called back from his assignment to help locate an operative who has gone missing in Eastern Europe and may have had his cover blown. Additionally, a secondary protagonist named Danny (Lightfoot-Leon) trains to become an undercover operative at a nuclear research center in Tehran.

As Martian attempts to keep his secret affair with Samia (Turner-Smith) far from detection, he must also handle various security matters with his CIA superiors, Henry (Wright) and Bosko (Gere), all while avoiding pressure from his assigned psychologist, Dr. Blake (Harriet Sansom Harris). What’s more, Martian also confides in his case manager, Naomi (Katherin Waterston), who knows him better than anyone, and tries to be a supportive parent to his teenage daughter, Poppy (India Fowler). The main objective, however, is to find and extract the missing CIA operative at all costs, as he is one of the only people alive who has knowledge of a top-secret objective.

Binge All 10 Episodes Of The Agency Season 2 On June 21

The Agency season 1, which was created by Jez and John-Henry Butterworth, is deeply immersive and gripping but can be quite dense with its story, which makes the decision to release season 2 all at once somewhat interesting. Unless The Agency season 2 is more lean and less loaded with highly specific yet realistic characters and subplots, it might be difficult for some viewers to actually binge it in just a few sittings. That said, Fassbender and his ensemble create such a convincing story world that makes it very easy to pull viewers in.

Netflix’s New 3-Part True Crime Series Is Already One Of Its Best To Binge

Netflix’s new 3-part true crime series is already one of its best new shows to binge-watch just hours after its worldwide premiere on June 3, 2026.

Now is the perfect time for Paramount+ subscribers who have yet to check out The Agency to start watching ahead of season 2’s arrival later this month. Even though the series has a Rotten Tomatoes score of just 66%, it also has a rare perfect 100% RT audience score, which clearly makes it a hit amongst viewers. What’s more, all five seasons and 50 episodes of The Bureau, which ranks #158 on IMDb’s Top 250 TV shows of all time list, are also available to stream on Paramount+. If you love Fassbender, Gere, Wright, or any and all dark spy thrillers, The Agency is truly a must-watch on Paramount+ this month.
