NFL rumors tracker for head coach openings with latest updates and reports

The NFL coaching carrousel is in full swing, with a bloody Black Monday and Tuesday creating five new head coach openings around the league. The New York Giants and Tennessee Titans had already fired their head coaches in-season, meaning there’s seven top jobs available right now. There have already been some shocking moves, and not every team is going to get their top candidate.

The surprising move the coaching cycle happened when the Baltimore Ravens fired John Harbaugh after 18 seasons on the job. Harbaugh will be 64 years old at the start of next season, but he’s already garnering significant interest around the league. Expect this cycle to include some “retreads” who have been fired by other teams, as well as young coaches who will get their first shot at leading a team.

The Ravens, Giants, Titans, Falcons, Cardinals, Browns, Raiders all have head coach openings right now. Teams like to cast a wide net during a head coaching search, and that leads to some wild rumors. We’ll be updating you on the most significant rumors of this coaching cycle with this post.

Raiders request interview with Davis Webb

The youngest current NFL head coach is Kellen Moore of the New Orleans Saints, and he’s 37. This would be a huge step for Webb, and it’s nice just to get an interview.

John Harbaugh is a favorite to land New York Giants job

He should get to pick the GM too if this happens. Harbaugh reportedly wants to coach in 2026.

John Harbaugh drawing interest from “mystery team” without a current job opening

Get your guesses in in the comments. I’ll go with the Miami Dolphins.

Kliff Kingsbury is a “name to watch” as Ravens’ head coaching candidate

Kingsbury was fired as the offensive coordinator of the Washington Commanders on Tuesday. Could he already be in for a promotion? This one seems like a stretch.

Jason Garrett to interview for Titans head coaching job

This is stunning, and quite frankly, hilarious. Garrett lasted 9.5 seasons as the Dallas Cowboys’ head coach before being fired following the 2019 season.

Browns require to interview Ravens OC Todd Monken

Monken’s offense looked a lot better in 2024 than 2025, but he’s still a head coaching candidate for the Cleveland Browns.

Browns to interview Seahawks DC Aden Durde

A British head coach could be fun.

Broncos DC Vance Joseph to interview for 4 head coach openings

The Broncos’ defense is incredible, and it makes sense to try to steal some of that magic away from Denver. Joseph has an 11-21 head coaching record after previously holding the top job with the Broncos.

Kevin Stefanski to interview with Falcons, Giants, Titans

Stefanski’s Giants interview is Wednesday. He feels well positioned to land another head coaching job in this cycle.

Titans line up five coaching candidates for interviews

Matt Nagy sounds like a legit candidate for the Titans

The Chiefs’ passing game offense took a big downturn after hiring Nagy, so it’s surprising that he’s getting another look after his failed stint as Chicago Bears head coach.

Seahawks OC Klint Kubiak requested for Falcons, Cardinals, Raiders, Giants jobs

He’s going to be one of the hottest young playcallers who could get a job in this cycle (Yahoo).

We’ll update this story as it develops.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup gets underway later today, when host nation Mexico takes on South Africa in the opening match.

Here is a full list of the referees, assistant referees, and video referees at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Who are the head referees at the 2026 World Cup?

52 referees were selected for the 2026 World Cup. The majority of them, 15 in all, are from UEFA countries. That includes Szymon Marciniak from Poland, who was the referee for the 2022 World Cup Final.

This list includes 12 referees from CONMEBOL and nine from CONCACAF. New Zealand’s Campbell-Kirk Kawana-Waugh is the lone OAF referee.

This list also includes Omar Abdulkadir Artan from Somalia, who was denied entry into the United States. While Canadian politicians have offered that he could referee matches in Canada, at the time of publication it is unclear if that will be arranged.

Who are the assistant referees at the 2026 World Cup?

All told, 88 referees were selected as assistant referees for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. All six confederations are represented.

12 of the assistant referees come from the AFC, while 11 come from the CAF. CONCACAF has 15 assistant referees at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including four from the United States (Corey Parker, Kyle Atkins, Kathryn Nesbitt, and Brooke Mayo), two from Canada, and three from Mexico.

Once again UEFA has the most assistant referees, with 29, while Isaac Trevis is the lone representative from the OFC.

Who are the VAR officials for the 2026 World Cup?

As such, FIFA has assigned 30 video match officials for this year’s World Cup. Five confederations are represented here, as OAF does not have a video match official for the 2026 World Cup.
