It wasn’t just radical modifications such as square-toe Air Max 90s and laceless, slip-on Air Max 97s that were included in Nike’s preview of its legacy franchise at men’s Paris Fashion Week. Also included were numerous spins on the remastered Air Max 95 Big Bubble, including a four-sneaker “Black Tongue Pack” that’s already earning praise from purists.

With original-styled gradient gray synthetic suede uppers, each Air Max 95 Big Bubble in the upcoming set uses the model’s most beloved look, adding accents of vibrant color on the Air bubble, lace loops and mini Swoosh logo.  Where they differ from typical OG Air Max 95 styles, however, lies in the group’s nickname, as each colorway features a fully black tongue instead of the usual white and metallic silver look.

It’s a small change, but one that has already been met with anticipation from Air Max enthusiasts. Longtime fans of the Air Max line may recall a 2013 “Prototype” collaboration with Japanese retailer Mita Sneakers, a highly coveted limited-edition release which featured a similar black tongue treatment on the Air Max 95’s original Neon colorway.

Nike’s 2025 remastered of the Air Max 95, which featured an improved shape and larger Air units than previous reissue iterations of the sneaker, was met with widespread acclaim from fans and retailers alike.

Also at Paris Fashion Week, Nike previewed two new Air Max 95 Big Bubble styles in what’s being called the parrot-themed Macaw Pack. 

Styles previewed for the Nike Air Max 95 Big Bubble Black Tongue Pack thus far include blue, pink, red and yellow, and it’s possible that more looks will be added to the lineup in the future.
