Norqain Channels Summer Nostalgia With Playful “Sprinkles” Chronograph At Watches And Wonders 2026

Norqain has injected unexpected whimsy into the typically formal world of Swiss watches. At Watches and Wonders 2026 in Geneva, the brand unveiled the Freedom Chrono Enjoy Life “Sprinkles” Special Edition, a timepiece that transforms summer nostalgia into wearable mechanical art. Drawing creative inspiration from the carefree sweetness of ice cream treats, this 40mm chronograph combines playful design elements with serious Swiss horological credentials. The watch represents Norqain’s philosophy of celebrating life’s simple pleasures through thoughtful craftsmanship, offering collectors a refreshing alternative to conventional sport chronographs.

The Norqain Sprinkles chronograph arrives in three distinct configurations to accommodate various stylistic preferences and budgets. The version fitted with a classic stainless steel bracelet is priced at $6,290 USD, while the model on a white rubber strap retails for $6,150 USD. A third option features a white rubber strap with a folding clasp, available for $6,350 USD. Each configuration maintains the watch’s essential character while providing flexibility in how owners choose to wear this conversation-starting timepiece. A 2+1-year warranty for Norqainer Community members adds additional peace of mind to the purchase.

The Dial: Where the Norqain Freedom Chrono Sprinkles Concept Lives

Two dial options are available. Strawberry and Blue Raspberry. Both are matte. Both are covered in coloured sprinkles finished in Super-LumiNova, which means they glow blue in the dark. The white subdial counters at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock provide clean contrast against the busy background. Diamond-cut, rhodium-plated hands and applied indexes carry additional Super-LumiNova for legibility in all lighting conditions. A black tachymeter scale runs around the white outer ring.

The tri-compax layout follows the 3-6-9 configuration. The 30-minute counter sits at 3 o’clock, the 12-hour counter at 6, and small seconds at 9. The central chronograph seconds hand is thin and polished. It works against the dial rather than with it, which is the one concession this watch makes to visual busyness. The box-type sapphire crystal carries a double anti-reflective coating. Flip the watch over, and the sapphire caseback is printed with the words “Enjoy Life.” It is a detail that costs very little to produce and says everything about the brief.

The best detail is in the date window between 4 and 5 o’clock. Once every seven days, a soft-serve ice cream icon replaces the numeral. On this year’s model, unlike the 2025 Ice Cream edition, the icon has sprinkles on it. Monthly, Kermit, eat your heart out.

Case, Movement, and What Powers the Fun

The 40mm case is 316L stainless steel, with a plate on the side of the case that can be personalized with an engraving. Thickness sits at 14.9mm. Lug-to-lug is 49.2mm. Water resistance is rated at 100 metres, backed by a screw-down crown engraved with the Norqain logo. The case proportions are unchanged from other Freedom Chrono references, which is the right call. This is not a novelty object dressed as a watch. It is a proper 40mm sports chronograph with a novelty soul.

Moreover, power comes from the Calibre N19, a modified Sellita SW510 automatic movement delivering a 62-hour power reserve with column-wheel chronograph architecture.  It is not chronometer certified. For a watch built around the philosophy of enjoying life rather than measuring it to four decimal places, that feels like the correct omission.

The Food Watch Subgenre and Where Norqain Sits in It

Photo: Norqain

The Sprinkles does not exist in isolation. The trend of watches inspired by whimsical food items developed around 2021, with Studio Underd0g launching its Watermelon chronograph and Oris introducing its Cotton Candy series of bronze divers around the same time.  Since then, the category has quietly expanded. Studio Underd0g has built nearly its entire catalogue around edible references. Oris extended the Cotton Candy line into steel. Breitling released a pistachio-coloured Top Time. The food watch is no longer a quirky outlier. It is a legitimate subgenre.

What Norqain is doing within that subgenre is worth noting. The brand is not simply applying a fun colour to an existing dial and calling it seasonal. The weekly ice cream complication, the glow-in-the-dark sprinkles on both the dial and the strap, the soft serve activation at the booth, the year-on-year continuity from Ice Cream to Sprinkles — this is a considered programme, not a one-off. Norqain CEO Ben Küffer has framed it explicitly: “The world can feel heavy with bad news, but our message is simple: life is a gift and life is short. Enjoy the freedoms you have, celebrate the good moments, treasure time with family and friends, and make the most of every minute.”
