At last year’s FN Achievement Awards, the Pharrell x Adidas VIRGINIA Adistar Jellyfish was awarded the Shoe of the Year. In his acceptance speech, Pharrell Williams noted that he did not own a name-brand sneaker until he was 16 and could afford one with his first paycheck from McDonald’s. That detail says something specific about what the Jellyfish represents to him: it is a pair of footwear built to mean something to someone who remembers not having access to that conversation at all.
The new Timber colorway drops on September 2026. Pharrell first wore it publicly at the Louis Vuitton Spring 2026 runway show during Paris Fashion Week, where he presented his collection against a beach-themed backdrop with an ocean wave set. The shoe was on his feet before the official release announcement existed. That sequencing has become a defining feature of how the VIRGINIA line operates. The cultural moment comes first. The retail moment follows.
What the Pharrell Adidas Jellyfish Timber Actually Looks Like
The foundation is a tight-knit brown mesh in an Auburn tone, layered immediately with tonal synthetic overlays that wrap across the toe cap, side panels, and heel counter. The overlays share the same earthy brown palette as the base, building density and texture without introducing color contrast at this stage. The silhouette reads as dark and sculptural before the yellow lands.
The yellow arrives decisively. Electric Timber yellow accents hit the forefoot wraps, the outer skeletal cage, the midsole sections, and the heel area, cutting hard lines through the earthy base. Off-white structural supports and black hardware sit between the layers, providing separation in a design that has a lot happening across a concentrated surface area.
The curved support beams, the element that gives the Jellyfish its name and its most recognizable visual identity, sweep from the lace stays down toward the heel counter in organic arcs. They are the architectural feature that makes this shoe look like nothing else currently released.
The VIRGINIA Line and What the Jellyfish Represents Within It

Pharrell launched the VIRGINIA Adidas sub-label as a geography-themed creative framework with the state of Virginia as its emotional center. The Adistar Jellyfish sits at the top of that lineup as its most experimental and structurally complex silhouette. It is built on an enlarged interpretation of the Adistar Cushion 3, retuned specifically for lifestyle wear rather than track performance.
The sole unit is deliberately oversized. Torsion branding is embedded visibly in the midfoot cavity for arch support and torsional stability. The heel tab carries contrast stitching and custom yellow embroidery. The tongue features a co-branded VIRGINIA and Adidas Trefoil patch.
The Jellyfish has remained scarce since its 2025 debut. Only a small number of colorways have reached consumers through limited regional releases. The Timber is part of a broader September push that also includes a Crystal Sand colorway, suggesting Adidas is beginning to expand the shoe’s availability more deliberately as it heads into its second year of release. A monochromatic white and cream variant lands July 15 before the September drops follow.
Pharrell is also introducing an entirely new silhouette in September through the Watermoc, which he has nicknamed the Starfish, signaling that the VIRGINIA line is actively expanding rather than consolidating around the Jellyfish alone.

Where to Buy the Pharrell Adidas Jellyfish Timber

The Pharrell x Adidas VIRGINIA Adistar Jellyfish Timber releases in September 2026 for $300. It will be available through adidas, Pharrell’s Black Yacht Rock website, and select retailers online and in-store. A confirmed release date within September has not yet been announced. The style code is KK2889.
Given the scarcity of previous Jellyfish releases and the profile of this particular colorway, which was worn publicly at one of the year’s most visible fashion events, demand is expected to significantly outpace supply at launch.
