Beyoncé has officially joined the billionaire ranks, becoming the fifth musician to reach the milestone, according to Forbes. The global superstar now stands alongside her husband Jay-Z, as well as Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, and Rihanna in the exclusive club. Beyoncé’s ascent to billionaire status follows several years of blockbuster touring, strategic business moves, and major multimedia deals that have significantly expanded her earning power beyond music alone.
In recent years, Beyoncé’s financial growth has been fueled by record-breaking live performances and her ownership-driven business model through Parkwood Entertainment, the company she founded in 2008. Her 2023 Renaissance World Tour grossed nearly $600 million, while her 2024 country album Cowboy Carter anchored the world’s highest-grossing tour of 2025, generating over $400 million in ticket sales and an estimated $50 million in merchandise. Forbes estimates she earned $148 million in 2025 before taxes, boosted further by lucrative deals including a reported $60 million Netflix agreement for “Homecoming” and $50 million for a Christmas Day NFL halftime performance. These combined ventures have cemented Beyoncé’s status not just as a cultural icon but as one of the most powerful business figures in entertainment.

World heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua narrowly escaped death on Monday after being involved in a serious road accident along the busy Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in the Makun area of Ogun State. The crash occurred at about 11:00 a.m. near Danco Filling Station, inward the Sagamu Interchange on the Ibadan axis, when a Lexus SUV conveying the boxer collided with a stationary truck. Joshua was travelling in a two-vehicle convoy, with a Pajero SUV carrying his security detail behind him. He reportedly sustained minor injuries, while two other occupants of the Lexus died at the scene.
Eyewitnesses said there were four people in the Lexus at the time of the accident, with Joshua seated behind the driver. Rescue efforts began immediately as bystanders mobilized to assist victims before officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) arrived to manage the scene and evacuate those involved. The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Babaseyi Oluseyi, and FRSC spokesperson, Afolabi Odunsi, later confirmed the incident, stating that investigations were ongoing and that more details would be released in due course.

U.S. offers Ukraine 15-year security guarantee as part of peace plan, Zelenskyy says https://t.co/c7aqS1SNnR

The United States has offered Ukraine security guarantees lasting 15 years as part of a proposed peace plan aimed at ending the war with Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Monday. Zelenskyy, who met U.S. President Donald Trump at his Florida resort on Sunday, said the offer was a step forward but stressed he would prefer a longer commitment of up to 50 years to deter future Russian aggression. Trump said Ukraine and Russia were “closer than ever before” to a peace settlement, though he cautioned that negotiations could still fail amid unresolved issues, including troop withdrawals and the future of the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
Zelenskyy emphasized that firm security guarantees were essential to ending the conflict, saying the proposal includes mechanisms for monitoring a peace deal and the presence of international partners, though details remain undisclosed. Russia has opposed the deployment of NATO troops in Ukraine, even as President Vladimir Putin claimed Russian forces were advancing in eastern and southern regions of the country. As talks intensify ahead of the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022, Zelenskyy said Trump was open to extending U.S. guarantees beyond 15 years, pending approval by Congress and allied parliaments, while Kyiv continues to push for a settlement backed by long-term international commitments.

U.S. soccer star Christian Pulisic has publicly denied rumors linking him romantically to actress Sydney Sweeney, calling the speculation false and harmful. The 27-year-old captain of the U.S. Men’s National Team addressed the claims on social media after online gossip suggested he was dating the Euphoria star following her breakup from former fiancé Jonathan Davino. “Please stop with the made up stories about my personal life,” Pulisic wrote on his Instagram Stories on December 28, adding that unverified reports can “affect people’s lives.” He also commented, “Fake news guys let’s stop with the silly rumor” under a post repeating the claims.
The dating rumors reportedly originated from an Italian gossip outlet and spread rapidly online, despite both parties being in separate relationships. Pulisic has been linked to fellow athlete Alexa Melton since 2024, while Sweeney, 28, has been dating music executive Scooter Braun since early September. Reports previously said that Sweeney and Braun are in a committed relationship and “going strong,” with multiple public appearances together in recent months. Neither Sweeney nor Braun has commented directly on the Pulisic rumors.

Ousmane Dembélé capped off a remarkable 2025 on Sunday by being named Best Male Player at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai. The Paris Saint-Germain forward added the honor to an already glittering year that included winning the Ballon d’Or and FIFA Best Men’s Player award, after inspiring PSG to their first-ever UEFA Champions League title last season. The 28-year-old enjoyed a career-defining campaign, scoring 35 goals across all competitions and playing a decisive role in PSG’s dominant European run.
Despite an injury-hit start to the 2025/26 season, Dembélé’s performances earlier in the year proved enough to secure yet another global accolade at the ceremony, which has been held annually since 2010. Barcelona teenager Lamine Yamal was also among the night’s winners, collecting the Best Forward award and the Diego Armando Maradona Award, though he missed out on the top prize to Dembélé. PSG emerged as the biggest winners overall, underlining Dembélé’s central role in a historic year for the French champions.
